When you go somewhere and people give you complements on your firearms.

I let a buddy borrow my HK USP .45 for his CCW class. (he needed a semi to qualify for a DRS permit) When he got there everyone loved it. The guy who runs the class is a huge glock guy, shoots competitions, and has a VERY nice competition Glock. He is also a gunsmith. He really liked it, shot it a couple of times... then offered to put a better trigger in it. :)

How many of you can honestly tell me you don't get that "my head doesn't fit in the room" feeling when someone likes your stuff? ;)

Indeed, mutual and reciprocal appreciation of firearms is part of the great pleasure.

On boards we get the ''mine is better than yours'' a lot, but in fact most folks I think when trying or just inspecting other pieces at the range, are more inclined to have greater appreciation of other guns, even if not their own choice.

There is often a justifiable pride in ownership which is not ego driven but simply an enjoyment of other's shared appreciations.

I'm always glad when people like my toys, but that doesn't seem to help me find the 2.5-inch stainless Python of my dreams—but I'm not obsessed, you understand.

Obsessed? What's that word mean? My uses it constantly. I keep trying to tell her I don't know what she's talking about.

It usually comes up right after she asks me why I need another firearm. :D

10 dollars on "Is Standing Wolf paying for it too?"

I get complimented all the time on my Springfield loaded OD green 1911.
BUT I was carrying it open (AZ) one day and had an employee at Taco Bell ask me if it was a BB gun.
My reply-"who carries a BB gun? No son this is a good ole American 45"

I rarely run into those whose opinion is based upon

any sort of knowledge or experience, or even much in the way of book-info, but when I do, their approval is nice.
