Well, my new LCR in 327 Mag came in last weeks and it’s new front sight as well. Dressed it up in its new Hogue FDE grips too.

I’m a big J Frame fan. I do not think anything carries as well as the J’s, especially in the pocket. But as my hands get weaker and SW’s quality control gets worse, I had to give up the Airweights and Featherweight ones for the heavier Taurus 856 line and the bulkier LCRs. Yes, I have tried about every grip out there, and found a couple that fit my hand, but I was unable to pocket carry with the huge things. Where the Taurus and Ruger snubs grips fit me well and I shoot them well too.

So added a 327mag and a 357mag to the LCR family. I already had a 22lr and a 3” 22mag LCRX.

One thing I harped on the LCR line was the “double clutching” of the trigger, ie false reset that makes the user think they can shoot again. I have noticed the these steel frame versions do not have that problem AS MUCH as the 38 special LCR I had. Hopefully the extra training will help eliminate that all together.

So been shooting 32SW Long WCs I found online at a good price. Plus I loaded up about 100 of some RNs I had in a +p version if you would to see how the kick of a 32H&R would be like. Pistol and me handled them both well. Really enjoyed shooting this pistol. And the ammo is reasonable. For just about the same price as a case, bullet, and primer I have a factory loaded round and cases to reload with later. Guess I will have to get a caliber conversion kit for my 550c. LOL

So why a 357mag LCR as well? Like I mentioned, the lighter 38 special LCR kept giving me a false reset. Well the 357 LCR doesn’t. Now, it will never see a real 357 mag loading through it as long as I’m shooting it. Mostly just WCs and some powder puff SWCs. But I do have a tackle box full of 38 caliber snap caps, speed loader, and speed strips that I have accumulated to do some classes with my snubs. And the 38 size cases are just easier for my hands to use when dry firing and laser training. I will pick up another 357 LCR for a backup and rotate them out for practice monthly and for classroom work with WCs.

Will I get a second 327? I doubt it. Like I said in another post, the idea of a boutique caliber in a world of already hard to get ammo doesn’t make sense. But I’m glad I did it! I have my 22lr LCR for pocket use and the 327 is going into my Enigma once my shell gets here. It’s cheaper to shoot factory ammo with the 32SW WCs than 38s. It’s got a sixth shot, which others really care about. And it’s just fun! Just hard to beat the best LCR, IMHO, the 357mag. But it’s a close second. And Hero and Henry both like it also! LOL
