LCR or J frame preference

FYI, the frame is stainless steel on the 9mm, 327, and 357, and the 22lr and 38 special are aluminum. Only the trigger housing is polymer.

I only have experience with the .38 special versions. The S&W 442 was a "Uh-oh! Everything else has failed and this is my last chance" tool for pocket carry and I disliked shooting it even with mild target loads. When I shot an LCR for the first time (and I mean the first five rounds), I decided to give the 442 to my best friend. The LCR has a much better trigger and it's not painful to shoot the way an airweight j-frame is with the standard grips.
