It’s not just ammo and components

Everything seems to be in short supply, not just shooting stuff.

I just received a Nightforce scope that was backordered in December. I just sold a Polaris Range with the intensions of buying another one. It won't be here until March. Maybe! I just sold a gooseneck trailer with the intensions of buying a shorter one. They are in short supply. My Wife makes online grocery orders from Kroger that we go to pick up. Every order is short a dozen items or more. It goes on and on.

I scurry out at o dark thirty like a rat to buy stuff like dairy products, meat, vegetables anything date sensitive and not factory packaged. Never have that sort of thing delivered and don’t want some stranger touching my food in a store. My neighbors do and the delivery people are way too creepy looking and things are missing frequently so they say. Just scheduled two lawn mowers for service pickup—two week wait. Even service is in short supply.

I ate a $150 steak once. it was a Dry Age tomahawk ribeye. I personally think I have good taste, but (to me) steak is not like wine. It’s not a delicate thing.... Fat, Meat, Bone, Salt&Pepper, smokey char.... perfect
I think steak is much like wine—properly aged, seered, cooked, and served at right temp, savored, not eaten. When on business travel I used to search out best steak houses, but the best I’ve ever had was a KC strip off my own grill with a glass of Chianti after a day of loading and shooting. (I made up the last part)

Ribeye isn’t my favorite but I’ll take it for sure. $150 is a lot but I spent many years working and saving to enjoy that very thing.

Back to the original topic, one of the organizations I work with is now 5 months backordered on medical equipment which was listed in September as "available" and in November as "ready to ship." Made in the U.K. Medical equipment was supposed to be prioritized for shipment, and they are boxed up, ready to ship, according to the distributor, but they can't ship. We're being told there's not a carrier available. Imports of essential goods are being interrupted so I'd imagine non-essentials are going to be delayed even further.

How far from Tampa? I’ll stop at Bern for a steak to hold me over.

I'm surprised you're having trouble finding beef in Tampa! Pop down the I4 to Orlando. Plenty of good grub in O-Town but the people are a little strange. You won't find a $150 steak in my part of the swamps but you will find a mighty fine chicken-fried steak meal - with sausage gravy, mashed potatoes and collards - for around $8. Them's good eats, brother!

I agree. I failed to say that the only things that She orders online are goods that are boxed up or in cans. We go early for Meats, Fruits and Vegetables ect.

After I got home yesterday and posted this one of the trailer places called saying they found me a trailer like I wanted. Its at another of their stores about 700 miles away. It will be here the first of next week. Yea!!!:)

I confused you again. I’m just outside DC and as long as I would be traveling to fla, I would go to Tampa.

I was in Cabela's and noticed that all the empty shelves in the gun department are filled with ammo boxes and gun cases. The glass display cases for hand guns are mostly empty. They consolidated what they had into one or two cases. They filled the empty display cases by laying some expensive, high-end long guns in them. They don't want the store to look empty!

Exactly what they’ve done here. So, also with discontinuing ordering powder or primers on line for ship to store, why would any shooter go there anymore? Better odds to be had in Vegas.

I found a brick of primers there last month just randomly. I go knowing there is almost zero chance but it only takes once to make a huge difference in my stock. It's my first panic so I just check often and get when I can. Not paying scalpers prices.

My son would like to start reloading; can't even find a single-stage press to buy. He thought he knew where a L-N-L press kit was for "bargain prices." When he told me it was $1000:what:, I told him he was wrong!
EBay has lee turret press's around $500. They are price gouging for sure. A 4 die set of 9mm is goin for around $150!! But they are there

I remember my 1st panic.... ahhhh, memories of finding the allusive .22 cci for $7.39 a box. Yep! plenty of 9mm, .223, .45, whatever... but .22 NOPE!

Lucky you. It’s a 35 mile drive for me but when I knew they had what I wanted (I had it shipped to store or the online inventory showed it in stock) I’d combine it with going to the range so it’d only be 10 miles out of my way. But hitting it cold is something I’ll save for post-vaccine I guess.

Visited the LGS on Thursday, they had a number of semi autos. Both pistols and longguns...ammo...45acp and 38 spl for 45 dollars a box.....it was target ammo. It's like mule p*ssy,it may be ugly and it may be immoral, but it's there if you need it!

Went to Cabelas in Connecticut yesterday and was very disappointed what I saw.
Ammo shelves bare like Mother Hubbart’s cabinet. No power or primers, a couple of boxes of Shot gun ammo for target, less than 20 boxes of Center fire of the less popular brass - The store is looking more like a clothing store. Stop by the LGS and he had primers but wanted $80.00 a box of 1000, past on that deal:feet:

80 per 1000 is a good deal depending on the flavor!

My dad reloaded for me so I had no idea how good I had it. Being in the navy then I never had the time... guess he knew how to be prepared.
