It feels so comforting!!

I went to a late movie last night by myself and carried my colt cobra concealed. I did not need to use it, nor did I expect to need it. However knowing that when the unexpected does happen and that the state of North Carolina allows me to legally carry a concealed firearm in order to defend myself gave me a great sense of comfort. I pray that every responsible citizen in this country will one day be able to have the same right.

I do not carry often and when I do it's at night but going to the movies is always a situation where I carry, especially when with the girlfriend. The Dark Knight is the highest rated movie on IMDB.com and metacritic.com, last time I checked.

Never heard of it.....some of us decided to keep our brains from turning into oatmeal a looong time ago and gave up on pop-culture media entertainment, movies or TeeVee....couldn't tell you who all these great star friends are of mine, who are on apparently a first-name basis with me....or me with them, anyhow, since I doubt they know I exist or even would care if they did so long as the money came pouring in.

Back to the starting post, yes, being armed is a great comfort, and rabbits don't live long for several reasons, fear being one of them, being defenseless another.

Okay then. Glad you got that off your chest. How do you feel about Walmart and the Ruskies, too, while you're at it?

So, guys, would you rather have a high capacity 9mm or a low capacity .45 for going to the movies? What about a .22 with a 25 round clip? I'd go for the 9mm because I might have to engage multiple people in a theater. This is also an excellent argument for a flashlight on your pistol for target ID.

So in NC, you can't conceal a weapon at a strip club? That's ridiculous LOL.

Some theaters in VA serve alcohol so no conceal carry there allowed.

Mr. Tactical Ninja....the "if I'm doing it, everybody else must be doing it" mindset it precisely the oatmeal thinking that jeopardizes gun rights, as the majority of folk in the US now live in densely populated areas and live their lives vicariously through entertainment...and most of that most cannot even imagine why someone would be weird enough to want to own a real gun when there are so many movies and games with them in it....and they think everybody is like that....so when someone tells me that "everybody" is doing something, I set the record straight since I'm included in that everybody.....but, since apparently only your opinion about guns, movies, Russia or WalMart is of importance, I'll bow out with a return to topic that gun carry is great for thinking people, and a sham if people don't think as individuals....

I was really more concerned with the dark walk to my vehicle through a normally almost empty parking lot at 1 AM than what may happen in the theater. I would rather carry my 9mm pistol, but the colt cobra is easier to conceal. The reason I decided to buy my first handgun was because my wife and I several years prior had to walk past a group of gang banger types after a late movie and nervously ignore their comments on the way to our car. I decided right then to buy a handgun. It actually ended up turning into my favorite passtime. I will pick a day on the range over golf any day.

Congrats on the permit. I'm waiting for my permit, although I've open carried for some time. I do feel a bit exposed without a handgun on me. Haven't had to use it, hope not too have too, but it's nice too have if I need it!

matheath, one thing I've noticed about this forum is that many posters here just can't pass on critiquing posting or writing styles/content, for lack of anything better to do, I suppose. That's twice just in this thread.

I feel quite sympathetic for those folk who don't live where they can carry a firearm for defense of life and property. Personally, I'd move if that were the case, as no job is worth being helpless. But know that's not always possible for many folk, for one reason or the other, and they're stuck in a population where the issue of issue is a non-issue.

I grew up in Wisc through the age of majority and then left shortly thereafter. It wasn't because of no right to carry, but that has kept me from ever thinking about moving back as I get older. I miss a lot of things about the state, but the majority's confused and provincial attitude toward guns is one I do not miss.

So, I feel for you, Matt-J2. I hope you guys get CC passed soon!! I would love to visit my old stomping grounds.
