I sent some emails to my elected officials - Boxer, Feinstein, Schiff, and Bush - on my views about the budget and illegal immigration. Hey, I don't need to like them - just try if I can to do my epsilon in pushing them in the right direction. Here is the peculiar answer I got from Boxer's office:
How full of narcissistic pink elitist stuffing do you need to be to assume everyone that writes you is "a friend" that would like to "keep in touch" with you, while you also tell them that you ignore their letter unless they do it your way?
We really need new smilies - one that vomits, smiles, and weeps simultaneously.
Dear Friend:
Thank you for your e-mail message and for your interest in public
policy.
In order to better serve the 36 million residents of California, I am
now using an e-mail system located on my Senate website. This system
enables me to provide more and better responses to you and other constituents while saving taxpayer dollars. (Unfortunately, limited resources do not allow me to respond to e-mails generated by third-party organizations.)
If you would like a reply to your message, I encourage you to visit my
website e-mail system at http://boxer.senate.gov/contact/webform.cfm
Simply fill in the fields, type in your message, and click “Submit” at
the bottom of the page.
Again, thank you for contacting me. I hope you will keep in touch.
Sincerely,
Barbara Boxer
United States Senator
