Dear Mr. xxxxxx:

Thank you for contacting me regarding the
assault weapons ban. I appreciate the
opportunity to review your comments on this
issue.

As you may be aware, the 1994 ban on semi-
automatic assault weapons will sunset on
September 13, 2004. This ban prohibits domestic
gun manufacturers from producing semi-automatic
guns with multiple assault weapon features and
ammunition clips that hold more than 10 rounds.
This ban does not include weapons that are
specifically made for use by the military and
police, or 670 specific types of hunting rifles
and shotguns that are manufactured today. That
is why it passed in the Senate and was signed
into law.

Thank you again for your views on the
assault weapons ban. I appreciate hearing from
you.

Sincerely,

Barbara Boxer
United States Senator

What is the sound of hot air blowing?

I have found that most congress critters have a form letter to send out that never quite gets around to taking a stand for or against whatever you contacted them about.
They seem to think that they can fool all of us, all of the time.
Abe Lincon said they can't.
IMHO I think the Sen. Boxer should come out and say damn right I support this ban.
Of course, that would require some level of integraty and honesty on her part.:scrutiny:

Yeah, but they're never the least bit wishy-washy when it comes to sending you letters to solicit campaign contributions. It's just a question of priorities.

She basically said "this is the law, this is why it was passed". However she dodged the question so its about 99% certain shes pro-GC like most female law makers.

Really? What made you think that.................

I've occasionally considered emailing my Senators (Boxer and the other one), but in the end it's a waste of valuable ones and zeroes.
I respectfully disagree. They may not change their mind on the issue, but may back off if too many people are mounting a challenge to their campaign.

I don't know about 99%, but I think it would be a pretty safe statistical bet to assume that the grand majority of female legislators are anti-gun.
