I'd also dura-coat it and get a folding polymer stock...and a flashlight.

:D;)

It would be blasphemy to change anything on this fine piece of old world craftsmanship. Someday I'd like to purchase one of their SxS's that they used to make back in their glory days. Finding an original American made Ithaca SxS is rarer than hens teeth. Most people that have them usually got them from their father and don't usually want to part with them. Can't say I blame them.

You should cut it down for HD.

I'd also dura-coat it and get a folding polymer stock...and a flashlight.

Where do you mount the laser?

One of our old hands said a 34" full choke trap single would take a squirrel out of a tall, tall, tree.

You guys need to spend more time shooting and less time typing

I like classic functional shotguns. I was looking for about a year for an Ithaca 4E to use as my regular trap gun. All of the ones for sale were either beat up or modified by prior owners or listed for $1500 and up.

This one came up for auction with no reserve and I got it for less than $1000. When it came I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was in used but original condition. Walter Snyder, the Ithaca historian, told me it shipped to a C. R. Swartz of Kenton Ohio on April 14, 1927. Google told me that C. R. Was a runner up at 1919 Grand American.

I had Les Hovencamp of Diamond Gunsmithing give it a cleaning and a check up and he fitted for me an old but still soft Jostam Hy-Gun that I found on Gunbroker for under $10. All in all, my kind of gun.

Best part-Made in USA
