It's getting warm in Minnesota, especially the Twin Cities.

I am thinking that it is about time to have an outdoor gathering. A few members have been kind enough to offer to bring a few guests to their outdoor range. I am interested in seeing the Dakota County Gun Club myself, but any outdoor range with a 200 yard-line would suffice.

For this type of endeavor I could personally bring the following for people to try out:

Remington 700 in .375 H&H (scoped)
SAR-1
K-31 Swiss (I have not fired it yet)
91/30 Mosin Nagant
.50 Caliber Knight Muzzle loader (Anyone want to make a cloud?)
15.5 pound Rock River AR match rifle that I need to zero

If anyone has a local range membership and is still interested, let's get the ball rolling. A good time was had by all at the BPR, and I am sure an outdoor outing would be even better.

I live out in River Falls, WI. I am a member of the local shooting club here. I am allowed to have guests.

Downsides to being out here is we don't have a 200 yard range, and it would take most of you 40 minutes to get here.

I am in for any club just let me know the time and place.

I'd also like to check out the Dakota County Gun Club. I could contribute a Remington Model 12A .22 rifle older than anyone who shows up and a nice new Marlin 336C .30-30. A few assorted sidearms would certainly make the trip, too.

Ack! Talk about poor timing. I know this is probably late notice, but a friend and I shall be braving the mud this afternoon and going to the Dakota County Gun Club to shoot. Rest assured: it will be muddy out there with the snowmelt and recent rain.

Each DCGC member can invite two guests anytime to the range. In order to facilitate a mass THR gathering at the DCGC, we'll need to know how many MN THR members are also DCGC members. Perhaps other DCGC members can chime in here.

As for myself, I shall be more than happy to invite 2 other fellow THR members in the Twin Cities to the DCGC. If you are interested, please send me a Personal Message.

Just out to DCGC today! The parking area of the rifle range is actually in pretty good shape. The walk out to the targets is not soggy! The winter took it's toll on the access road, there is a real washboard effect. I am not sure of the pistol bays, but they are probably not too bad as there were people up there banging away!
Oh well! Anyone who wants to go PM me! I work nights so I would be going in the am, we can start shooting at 9am, although there is no Sunday shooting! Minnetonka allows for Sunday shooting after 12p.

I am thinking that Monday would be good to do some outdoor shooting. I will call you when I get back from my cabin Sunday to set up a time, but the 0900 start sounds good to me. If anyone else is interested, post here this weekend. I don't have anything loaded up yet for my match rifle, but I may have time to do so this Sunday. I would really like to hit the pistol bays, as some guys I know have talked me into trying some IDPA shooting soon, and I don't want to embarass myself any more than is absolutely necessary.

Oh, and we only have 3 patients here in the ED at Abbott right now, gotta love a slow night.
