Would there be any interest in a MD THR get together/shoot?

Ditto on the having a good time. Spot and I decided to go and hoist one on the deck at his house in lieu of getting together with the guys in Ellicott City.

Chaim...glad you liked the HK, I'm pretty fond of it myself:)

It was great that everyone brought a couple of guns and we had no duplicates! Of course the problem is that this outing is going to end up costing me some money especially thanks to MDShooter and his CZ97. :D

I'm up for another get together later in the Fall.....name the time and place.

Yeah, Norton, that 97 sure was nice. I already love CZs and I've been working to resist the 97 (money) but I don't know how much longer I'll be able to resist now. Your HK is also a nice gun. I don't think I've ever shot them before. I had simply decided from handling them once some time ago that they didn't do it for me (something about plastic guns). Man, your HK and SolomonShort's SIGpro, I just might have to rethink my ideas about polymer guns after all. Hmmm, and HKs do have a MD approved lock too. I can see the money just flying out my wallet as we speak (um, well, as we write anyway).

I keep repeating the mantra "buy a new safe before another gun". I'm jonesing for that CZ97, but I have to get some more secure storage before I add anything to the collection. If, as I suspect, that I will be inheriting a bunch of the FIL's collection, I'll be probably adding a concrete block house to the back yard with integrated safes:D

I like my HK a lot, but there is something very satisfying about having an all metal gun, ala your .357.

And fellas......IT'S NOT NICE TO OUTSHOOT SOMEBODY WITH THEIR OWN GUN!

hehehe....I wish my eyes hadn't been so fuzzy from the previous days' events...I was in Western Maryland for a beer festival since Thursday night and had to book home this morning to make it in time. So needles to sayI sucked twice as much as usual today :(

wish I could've talked a while longer.....And I hope you guys enjoyed the beer at Ellicott Mills. They had a few kegs at the beer festival and I think I drained most of them myself

I totally dig the SigPro.....might have to look into that.

I think I'm a little dissapointed with my new P95's accuracy....neither Norton or I seemed to rock n' roll with it very much.....but it's certainly an easy shooter. Might just need some practice or fine tuning.

Hope to do this again soon!

In case you Maryland / VA / PA shooters are interested.....

If any of you guys are interested, I'm having a shoot on Saturday, September 6th. Sign ins are at 9:00am and shooting starts at 10:00am. I also have sleeping accomidations for those of you that can escape till Sunday morning. Nice large spacious cabin in the Pines. David Park or SodaPop can tell you about it. Go to:

www.njcsd.org

and click on the green Sept. events post on the right hand side for more info. Glad you had a great time guys. Getting together and meeting the faces behind the names is very enjoyable.

Ray,

Sounds like a good time. What's the approximate driving time from the Baltimore area? I only know two places in NJ....Cape May and Woodbridge. I imagine that you are somewhere in between.

Talk to David Park about drive time. I think he lives in Alexandria VA and he has been to two shoots so far. If you can crash overnite and head out Sunday morning it would definitely be worth it. David Park is staying over along with SodaPop and a few others so we can shoot the ???? the rest of the night. I have 36 racks available for those that want to crash over nite. Here is the address so you can mapquest it.

501 Route 72
Barnegat, NJ
08005-1012, US

If you followed the Garden State Parkway right up into Barnegat it would be a straight shot for you.

It takes me about 4 hours to get to Ray's place, and I live about 30-40 minutes from Baltimore. It's not a bad drive, assuming there are no problems on 95 or the Parkway.

Sounds like you guys had a good time ........ even if smallish numbers.

Don't forget anyone interested who can make the trip ... Oct 26th (Sunday) ....... or arrive evening before if need to camp. This is South PA, with a bias to West (Bedford County) ........ take a look at the thread ...... will hope to manage something like 10 to dozen eventually.

And a good time for all...

Enjoyed myself Sunday. Thanks to Chaim for setting us up. Always good to meet fellow shooters and share stories, beer, and ammo.

Spot77: Was that Bersa yours? Nice little accurate popper yah got there.

MDshooter: Thanks for the HK USPc tryout, very soft shooter for a compact .45. I really must try the full size in .45 some day. (of course then I'll like it and have to buy it, sigh...)

Chaim: Loved the CZ, will have to consider one myself now. Thanks. No really, I mean it. Stop laughing... The smith was a handfull with .357, I think I'd stick with .38+P's with that one.

Glad I could make it, sorry for those who couldn't. Hope to see ya'll next time!

Yup, the Bersa ia mine. It shoots VERY well with those HydraShocks. They were getting old, so it was time to shoot them out and replace them with a fresh batch.

I think Chaim has a Bersa 380 also.

I'm already saving some money for the next meet, whenever that may be.

I think Chaim has a Bersa 380 also
Yup, and it is great, but I didn't bring it so he had to have tried yours. I should have brought mine though, it would have been nice to have put it through its paces a little. Oh well.

Thanks to Chaim for organizing.

Nice to meet fellow shooters - good company.

I'm thinking of selling the SigPro, it's a very good gun, but I'm looking for a 9mm now. Finalists: HK USPC, CZ-75B, BHP and after Sunday, my decision's tougher than ever. Thanks, guys!

Spot77 - wish I had shot that Ruger to give you another opinion, they're good guns. Looks like you're still having some issues with that beer. hehe

Ray - I don't think I'll be able to make the 6th, but keep the invites rolling.

P95Carry - Like'n' I said on the other thread, I'll see if I can make it in October.

I had spent Saturday afternoon shooting sporting clays on the eastern shore and freakin' loved it! I'm adding it to my hobbies and can't wait to get out again.

DO NOT SELL THE SIG!!!^$&!%!^&(!!

Alas, I would probably be the one to buy it, and that's the last thing I need to spend money on right now.

I shot the Ruger again today for about 50 rounds and did much better. I just need to get use to a 9mm I guess. No probs at all with the gun.

Are there any restrictions on crossing the MD/PA border for a shoot? Any weird laws on interstate transportation of legally owned handguns?

Spot: Thankfully as long as the guns are unloaded and kept in the trunk seperate from ammo you can cross borders with them. I regularly do when I go back home to visit my parents.

Sorry no pics......

Besides, all of us were only RENTING guns...none of us actually own any :p
