Would there be any interest in a MD THR get together/shoot?

Well this is GREAT!

It looks like we'll have at least a dozen or so people. Make sure you mark this on your calendar so you don't schedule anything else that day. As the date approaches, we'll nail down a few more of the particulars....

Looking forward to meeting you all.

I can't wait to see the looks on the faces of the guys (and gal) at On Target when we "Dirty Dozen" come in with all of our goodies. Guess I better start re-stocking the ammo reserves now:cool:

Wow, it looks like a lot of interest. Lets get a count of who will definately make it. If you want on the list of those definately coming email me at [email protected] (hey I know AOL is evil and all, but I didn't know that when I signed the contract and I'm still bound if I don't want to pay back a decent rebate it got me on my computer). If we are going to be a really large group we may need to either reserve time or go someplace other than On Target. I'll try to call to find out about reserving half of the range and find out about cost if enough of us are confirmed. If enough say they are going for sure I may ask that a few of us go together to pay the deposit (hey, I'm a broke graduate student), and remember if we do this we'll be committed to whatever the cost is.

Remember, one of my least favorite things about On Target- 4 gun limit per lane (enforced about half the time so we might get lucky). Hmm, I wonder if we reserve enough lanes in advance if they'd be willing to waive that rule :scrutiny:

OK, so it is confirmed, 3PM Sunday, August 24th. I'm looking forward to seeing some of you again and meeting the others.

Now we just need to determine where to go for beer and other refreshments for those so inclined. :D

Count me in, told leadpumper as well, so it's two. I might suggest Ram's Head at Savage Mill for eats and drinks. Cool thing, I'll be on the Eastern Shore the day before shootin' some skeet for the first time. Kewl.

On the subject of the pot-shott festivities.....Ram's Head is good, but there's also the DuClaw Brewery at Arundel Mills which is literally two minutes and three turns of the steering wheel away from On Target. I can personally vouch for the quality of the brew:D

Some good ideas for the post shoot activity (for those so inclined). Rams Head makes some great beer. Never been to DuClaw. Even though it doesn't make its own, the Last Chance in Columbia isn't bad- having over 50 beers on tap helps make up for the lack of their own beer and the somewhat dirty bar area. So long as we choose a place that is more bar than restaraunt I can go (though it would be better if we stay in the bar area than get a table in the restaraunt- the pesky Jewish/kosher thing;) ). I won't be buying any food, but a beer man I am (yes I keep it in moderation).

Another one...

Well now, shucks...

I guess that's just too dang good to miss. We'll be there chaim.

Any firearm requests? As in 'hey I've been thinking about X, does anyone have one to bring?'

Be interesting to see who brings what.

-LeadPumper

Well I'll bring my big manly arsenal:

Bersa Thunder .380

CZ-40B

Ruger P95

I think Norton's been eyeing a CZ75 in 9mm, and if by chance somebody has a CZ52 that would be awesome.

I can bring a CZ 75 and a Kadet .22 kit (very fun!). Any problem with 15-round mags in MD?

I also have a SIG P220, P239, a Kahr PM9, and some other stuff.

No problem at all w/15 round mags in MD - as long as they're federal-legal. Limit here (to buy, sell, or transfer) is 20 rounds... no restrictions on possession.

Guns I'll be bringing (this is a lot like a pot luck dinner, everyone bring an entree, dessert, or salad....except it's revolver, semi-auto, etc:D ): USP9F, Taurus .38, Ruger MK II (if it's not at the 'smith's getting the sights fixed).

Gun's I'd love to shoot if anyone has one to bring: USP45F, CZ97, CZ75 in 9mm or .40, CZ52

Well guys, My offering will be a Sig P220ST in .45ACP,a Colt Python in .357,(I call it my sinus clearer);) A Kahr K9,and a Sig P226 and a P229,both in 9MM.

Can't make it this time but have been meaning to check out On Target (I usually go to Continental Arms in Timonium. ) Enjoy yourselves!

btw: who knew there were so many "gun nuts" in little ole PRMD?:p

I can't make the sunday either. If there's any interest in a weeknight shoot PM me and I'll try to organise one for those of us who can't make it out with the "cool kids":D

I would definately be up for a weeknight shoot sometime. Actually, those would be best for me, I just figured we'd get more people on a weekend.

Hmm, the four I'll be bringing...

Definate:
-My CZ 75B (9mm)
-My Charles Daly 1911
-At least one of my .357s (probably either the 65LS or M19, maybe the 586), I'll even make my own ammo for them.

Maybe:
-My Bersa Thunder .380
-Another .357 (if two, one will probably be the 586 and one would be one of the K-frames)
-My Taurus 85 (I might even make my own ammo for it).
-My used S&W 908 I just bought on Auctionarms (if it comes in and the paperwork with the state is finalized in time for the shoot).:D

Oh if anyone definately wants to do some .22 rifle shooting I could bring my Rem 581 or my Marlin 60. Also, I could make my "maybe" my Hi-point carbine if anyone really wants to try it out. My preference would be to make it one of the listed handguns though (especially if the S&W 908 is ready for pick-up in time, then it is moved to the "definate" list).

Ah, what to bring, what to bring...*shuffling about looking confused with much hand wringing*...aha!

Colt Commander Lightweight with some mods...mmmm, yes...
SigPro 2340 in .40...mmmmm, check...
Late model Universal M1 Carbine...oooo...the liberals want to ban this one now, too...definately...
Remington 870 Wingmaster, modified for home defense...my shoulder may be too sore from the day before from skeet, but folks are welcome to drool and shoot...

Things I want to shoot...my sks. Don't think the folks at On Target would mind 7.62mm holes in their bullet trap, do you? Ah, guess it'll have to wait for another day...;)

Norton:

I've got a CZ97B I'll bring along for ya to try. I like the gun a lot... but it's definitely a handful. My hands are rather small, and as some have noted that makes the double action reach a bit much for me - but in single action mode the gun feels just right - and since it's designed to be carried cocked-and-locked there's never a need to start off with a double action shot. The gun's impressive mass sure makes a pussycat out of the .45 ACP round.

Probably limit myself to four (don't want to spend all night cleaning). Looks like this (two nines and two 45s):

CZ85B
BHP
CZ97B
USP45c

BTW - the 85B is essentially a 75B with an ambi safety lever (I'm a southpaw) so it "kinda" covers your 75B request. If there are any other special requests I can substitute:

Wilson Combat CQB
Beretta 92FS Inox
S&W 5906
Glock 19 or 36

Ummm... that's enough for now :)

mdshooter,

Awesome that you have a CZ97 to bring. I'm 6'7" and find that the USP9 needs a Hogue grip on it to feel comfortable in my hands, may maybe the CZ97 will fit my paws just right:cool:

I'm IN!!!!!

I usually shoot at Continental Arms in Cockeysville but I'm willing to take a drive.

I think I'll bring some 9mm's, and a few 357 Mags ! (since my pistol collection is limited to only 3 calibers 9, 357, 380 )

If you change you mind on the location I can get a pretty good deal at Continental Arms. They don't mind rapid fire, and have good ventilation.
