The concept is really poor, in my opinion. We already have incredibly effective semi automatic shotguns already, so why make another? The vehicle mounted version is even stupider. Sure its all cool and stuff, until you pull the trigger a fourth time. Its got something like a 24 round magazine and the gun if fully automatic. So when it runs out of shells what happens?

They are just better off with a turret or CROWS if you want to spend more money.

Low capacity, very heavy ammunition, and performance with buckshot about on par with an intermediate caliber rifle softpoint. If you ask me, the CAWS program was shelved for a reason. This is basically just a rehash of that.

I agree, it looks way too heavy. It is a very bulgy-looking gun as it is. What they could do is stop being stupid and just put 12ga. modulars on the M4 carbines with door-breakers, and then there would be no need for shotgunners in the military. Or, they could save money and not service out all of the shotguns they currently use now, since those work just fine. I sometimes hate watching that show because it shows you just how wasteful they are with our taxes.

Won't the enemy just pop up and run around, you are going to burn through your 20 round mag fast, and how many more can you carry? Especially compared to how many 20 or 30 round mags of 5.56 you can tote around.

however I find the grenade round they made to be very interesting.

I like the gun itself, but it does seem cumbersome. The M4/M16-mounted 870s do seem like the better choice. They can be adapted to be stand-alone, too.

SIFT THE SCENE FOR FINGERPRINTS, OR RELOAD. It also uses explosive projectiles.

Come on, you guys. Are you telling me if you could buy this thing in a pawn shop, you would pass it up? It's a stainless frame with a plastic cover, recoiless and up to 32 shots between reloads AND select fire to boot?
This thing is DRIPPING with Testosterone and COOL. I wish I could buy one. If that were so, maybe the negative vibes from you guys would drive the price down to something I could afford on a mall ninja's wages.

The Army built a really neat little tracked "tank" that had six recoilless rifles on it. The only flaw was that someone had to get out and load it. It did not last long.

On that little chopper, I did not see any targets? Show me the targets.

well, since I wouldnt be able to own it in full-auto or blast grenades with it, and because I dont feel like paying close to 2000 bucks for it, I would most certainly pass it up for a good semi-auto benelli, beretta, or a good Rem/Moss pump instead

and of course it has no recoil. It weighs over 6 kilograms when loaded. That's about 14 pounds of stainless steel. It's basically a 12 gauge that went out and fully devoured another 12 gauge

I only tried to watch that show once and couldn't do it, he reminded me of Samuel L Jackson's character in Jackie Brown too much.

The shotgun isn't recoiless. It just spreads the impulse over a longer time, just like a semi-auto. In the video, it sure seems to jump around alot.

Looks bulky, heavy, and all-together too cumbersome and awkward. They should stick to semi-autos.

I wonder if the frag-12 rounds can be used in more conventional shotguns? Cylinder bore only, I'd assume?

If ever I tripped over a pile of money that didn't belong to anybody, I'd have no qualms against picking up a few of those, even with a $200 DD tax on each one.

Don't know that I would have had much use for one, even during my year in Iraq. Carrying around that Mossberg in addition to an M4 and M9 was tiresome enough. It wouldn't be so bad for clearing a house as long as it stayed in the truck until we rolled up to the building. I could see it in a role such as that. If every squad was issued a couple to keep in the truck....on second thought, the Mossberg works just fine. No need pack anything else in and already full humvee.

I just have to shake my head at that shotgun. That gun was designed specifically for the military. Unless you're planning on starting your own terrorist organization, no civilian needs to own one. This is why I support Assault Rifle bans.

Jaenak, what does any gun purchase have to do with need. I would imagne that most folks here could satisfy all of their immediate needs with a single shot .22 rifle. The fact is, we have a right to own whatever the hell we want. It's your right to disagree, but what are your going to say after the gun grabbers pass their next AWB and start coming after your guns?

This is why I don't support AWBs. How many real assault rifles have been used in the commision of a crime lately?

The thing is, we will never get to find out if this thing is practical or not. The government has decided for you. Civilians can not be trusted with modern shotguns because they are suitable for militia use.
