Ruger MKII. Why? Because it is better than the Buckmark (which I also own)

Funny, I traded in My Ruger for a Buck Mark and never regretted it. Now I put a Tactical Solutions 10" barrel on the Browning, a BSA Holo Red Dot Sight, and twenty years later, it still gives me a 20 round 1/2 inch group at 20 feet. (OK, I exaggerated a little. it was .552") And this was using cheap Remington Thunderbolt ammo. I wonder what it would do with some Eley??????

Buckmark

I would go with the Buckmark. It seems to feel better in the hand and it is much easier to customize it. The barrel can be easily removed with a screwdriver and the rear sight can be replaced with a scope mount by removing two allen screws. Mine is sporting a 10" Tactical Solutions barrel and a 2 x 32 Bushnell scope and weights less than it did when it was stock.

Buck Mark, here's why.......

Looks are only sometimes important, but in this case the Buck Mark is the obvious choice aesthetically speaking.

Never shot a 22A, but held one & did not like the feel. I bought the Buck Mark Micro (4") & do not regret it at all. You can buy a 5.5" barrel (which I did so I have both) & not have to go through an FFL. You can buy a suppressed barrel & not go through an FFL (not that FFL holders are bad, it just save you the transfer fee and time). You can add rails, red dots, and scopes (which I did), but it's basically back to how I bought it except for the fiber optic front sight.

If you go Buck Mark and need a scope rail and holster send me a PM

Ruger is the way to go IMHO. My father passed along his old standard model, that must have seen it's share of cheap bulk pack ammo. It's odd to see a .22 with honest, not from neglect, wear to the bore. But she keeps on going.
