I've Reached Zen Balance In My Arsenal

My collection will be doomed to an endless cycle of creation and destruction. I will never achieve true nirvana.

I'm nearing Zen...

Only gun I bought in 2007 was a Mossberg Maverick, for ceramic-frisbee destruction. If I can find a Romanian Carpati, or a Polish P83, I'll snarf 'em up. Other than that, I may snag another semi .308/7.62x56, and I want to find a snaphaunce-lock pistol for a reasonable price. I'll probably hear a Mosin-Nagant calling my name sometime, too.

Of course, there's always cannon...

I am there too

I figured it out last month, all I have to make is one trade out and I am there

-Colt 1911
-Glock 32
-Ruger MKI,II,& III
-S&W Model 10-4
-Ruger 77/22
-Rem 700
-Arisaka- since ammo is non existant I may switch to combat tuperware M-clone.
-Mosin 44
-Savage MKII
-Mossberg 500a

I have to agree with Pig. Heck even Mrs. .45 calls me the gun wh0re for the way I go through firearms.

Oooo. Now you're talking! Maybe it's time to get into the BIG stuff. Or at least BP in general. It's nothing I've messed with much in the past. Though as it happens I do have a bunch of cannon fuse that I got just 'cause.

If I had to, I might be able list the firearms I own. But I can definitely list the ones I want. No balance.

not an auto pistol fan? a ruger mk II might help. . . .a nice police trade in auto pistol might be nice too.

I love revolvers, but im just starting to get into them. It's soooo nice not chasing brass :)

Good Collection!

How can you claim to reach enlightenment without a full power semiautomatic battle rifle?, Or eight? The true path to enlightenment may lead through the CMP, or at least through the gun store stocking Saiga 308's.

I am close

Pistols.

1) Charter Arms Undercover (This may be replaced with a four inch .357 revolver)
2) FN BHP
3) XD9 Subcompact
4) XD45 Tactical
5) STI Spartan
6) Makarov

Rifles

1) SAR-1
2) AR-15
3) Rossi 92 .44 Magnum
4) Mossy 500.

All I need is a bolt action in .306 and I am done.

If I can just get a nice .22 handgun for plinking with, I'll pretty much be there. Anything else would be wishlist status.

Then again, I'm pretty easy to please and my requirements are rather modest.

I am feeling the Zen myself, this year. A final piece to balance it all out was a TC Contender with a 35 Rem barrel. I know I've gotten there, because the gun classifieds no longer hold my attention. But a new venture has begun, as new shooters at work are now asking me to price firearms for them as they begin their quest for "Zen." I'm directing them to the various Forums, with items I see. Oh, the responsibility...but I'm up to the task.

Posted by GeezerwithGuns Gun "zen" for me will be when the number of my guns is equal or greater than the number of my birthdays.

I have passed the point of more guns than number of birthdays and I don't feel any "Zen" yet. CMP keeps offering M1 Carbines by different makers............

Ive got

Im not even close to being done.

zen to me is an Even Number of Firearms. I have 2 safes at opposite ends of the house. so I must Always buy in pairs to keep the house balanced.

Reyn listed...High Standard sentinel 22

I wish I'd see a few of the High Standard revolvers around. I'd probably buy one given the opportunity. See, this thread just makes you want MORE!

For those that have reached a firearm balance, I don't see much "quality" in the handgun area unless you mean XD's. Oh well, firearm selection is one of experience and available resouce dedication. Reyn, I like your accumulation with all the rimfires. You definiitely need a S&W Model 17 or a Colt Diamondback in 22. You don't know what you're missing.

Hades-on-high!!! I'm just warming up. I'd post mine, but Oleg would beat me for using up all of the bandwidth on a single post.

I'm still looking, but so far none of the battle rifles speak to me. They're fun to shoot but the balance is usually horrible and the ergonomics worse. Operating one is akin to operating a piece of heavy industrial equipment. The only exception was the old StG 57, which really seems to have been made with balance as a goal. But the price tag on those--yikes! I do miss the SAFN I used to have.

Thought i was at zen balance with that left hand Stag Arms AR-15 i bought: Alas, balance was not achieved. Another Sig 210 just might bring it into balance.
