morning fellas...
i've been carrying concealed for about 10 years. started out w/ a 6-shot 686, but the size and weight became too much, so i moved to a 1911. i didn't care for my colt's finish getting abused, so i moved to a sig 229, and i thought i found the perfect carry gun. a recent purchase of a s&w 637 changed that, though.
started out in an ankle holster, but hated the inaccessability and contortions it took to get to the weapon, so i picked up a galco hi-ride holster, and i really like that set up. the gun actually disappears under an untucked t-shirt! i've read about such things in the past, but never believed it was truly possible to carry owb w/ just a t-shirt (my everyday wear) for a cover garment! now gone are the hot flannels and button down cover shirts... seemed that the bottom of the holster would peek out under the shirt, or the grip would print terribly.
anyway, being more of an auto kind of guy, i sure wish i had taken the j-frame advice posted time and again on this board a long time ago. the weight of the gun makes it easy for me to forget i am carrying. truth be told, i notice the belt much more than i notice the holster and gun...
although it took awhile, i'm glad i took the j-frame advice. wish i woulda done it sooner.
