but it will make "pistol whippability" a far more important factor when choosing a handgun.

Pistol whippability!!!! LOL! I don't know why but this cracks me up. Suddenly the compact semis go out of style and everyone is carrying S&W X-frames...... LOL

All revolvers will come with a pic rail and "tactical hammers" will become the new rail accessory of choice.

Hey, I for one am ALL FOR removing the mechanical firing assembly and replacing it with a circuit-controlled solenoid.

Then they'll come for not only your gun, but your COMPUTER after they learn you can reprogram it to fire 15 rounds per second like a paintball gun. Ramp setting on my AR? YES Please!!:evil:

Bam--Bam--Bam---B-B-B-B-B-B-BAAAAAAAM!!!

Then you can hand it to the police officer with a different ring and it won't fire at all  I should really shut up...

If it can be built...it can be unbuilt. This ultimately wouldn't stop anything. A way to bypass or remove the tech would be made and criminals would just learn to do this. It's a waste of time and money and ultimately would just lead to a higher purchase expense for law-abiding citizens. As for protecting your children at home...there is already a way to do this and that is simply to not be a moron.

I can't help but think that a higher purchase cost for anti-gunners is the main choice in this proposed idea, not gun safety.
Same reason for micro-stamping. But this is just like the police... they do nothing to stop the crime in process or make you safer, they merely process paperwork after the fact.

This idea is as stupid as it ever was, and would still be stupid even if the technology could be made 100% reliable (which it can't) because any such technology could easily be defeated by criminals, much like gun control laws.

Why do anti-gun people want to discriminate against the poor?

Because it's easier--that's why low-hanging fruits generally get plucked first. It's the same reason they discriminate against law-abiding citizens while doing nothing against criminals--at least they'd infringe on the rights of the vast majority of people who would follow the law, no matter how stupid it is.
