So I'm still trying to figure out exactly how I like my j-frame set up for concealment and comfortable shooting. Does anyone use a trigger shoe on a j-frame for those of us with large hands, or is that really seen as something best left for target guns where it might cause problems?

Narrow smooth triggers are prefered for DA shooting.
On defense pistols, anything that can fall off or loosen will. if its carried long enough.

Its not so much the width or texture I'm looking for, its putting the trigger further out and getting the middle of my 2nd knuckle off the trigger and making the grip more natually go to my 1'st pad/joint area. The loosen/falling thing is what I suspected though.

I used to use a trigger shoe on my Cobra. One day I noticed that the width of the shoe was wider than that of the trigger guard--makes for real dicey holstering!! In other words, when you push the revolver down in the holster, it may go BOOM.
For a carry gun, I like to keep it as basic and as simple as possible. If you feel you really need a modified trigger, I would find a good 'smith and have it done right. It will be money well spent. Let me add that I would not recommend an action job or any mods that will alter the factory trigger weight for a carry gun.
