There has been a lot of heat (and limited light) on the idea that there is not a dimes worth of difference between Bush and Kerry as far as gun right goes.

Check this Kerry POV piece from his own web site out and tell me there won't be any change if Kerry actually makes it to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. I love the "reasonable gun safety positions" line. In case you missed it, that is the new liberal and progressive code for gun control this election cycle. His "reasonable" ain't mine or probably yours either.

Every time you hear that phrase think AW ban, and eventually confiscation, as soon as he can issue an executive order for it. Then he'll be supported by liberal, activist judges that will refuse to hear any legal challenges to the order.

We're already fighting that battle now in all Democrat controlled Illinois if you think I'm using hyperbole. Last week the proposal was tabled indefinitely for actual confiscation of all Daley defined "assault weapons".

"Fighting to Reauthorize and Strengthen the Assault Weapons Ban"

"John Kerry stood up to the gun lobby to pass the assault weapons ban and the Brady Bill. This assault weapons law is soon set to expire under George W. Bush. We need a President who will fight to keep assault weapons off our streets and out of our communities. John Kerry has the courage to stand up to the NRA, one of the most powerful special interests in the country, which is fighting tooth and nail against reasonable gun safety protections and against renewal of the assault weapon ban. One in five law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty were killed with assault weapons."

Versus GWB saying he will sign the AWB "if" it comes to his desk.

Yeah, there's no difference at all in their positions that I can see.

So all of you gun owners might as well just stay home and be disappointed this election because you don't have the ideal gun rights candidate. Don'e waste your time. Leave the election up to other folks. 4 years of John Kerry, followed by Hillary will have no measurable effect on our rights anyway.

The photo pasted to this board a couple of days ago of Kerry, Schumer. Kennedy and Fienstien speaks volumes. He is as anti as any of them and they are the 4 or the 5 biggest problems in the Senate as far as gun rights go. The only other person missing from this photo was Barbara Boxer. Maybe Hillary should have been there too. That would have made it perfect. If the NRA does not use that photo in anti Kerry ads I will wonder what the NRA-ILA money is used for.

I can't wait until Rosie O'Donnell runs and gets elected to the Senate. In the PRK, this could happen. Very sad to say of my home state.

Kerry is not a friend to gun owners any more than Ralph Nader or James and Sarah Brady is.

1 in 20 THR members are abducted by blue helmet alien fallschirmjagers.

His web site cites no source. Very cute.

What this doesn't tell you, is that most of the weapons these officers were killed with, were legal under the AWB, but the antis don't think they should be legal.

They were firearms that had modifications to fit within the legal terms of the AWB. The the antis call this exploiting a loophole in the AWB law. This is like saying that if you took a stock, dirt track racing car, which is not street legal, but you modified it to make it street legal, (lights, mufflers, glass windshield, gauges, etc), that you were exploiting the law on what makes a car street legal.

What a bunch of lying dweebs. My apologies to the dweebs out there. You probably aren't as bad as members of the VPC, the Brady Bunch, and the Million Moms. (I believe that these people are members of all three, so there really isn't a lot of members in total of real rabid anti's out there). Of course many of us also belong to several pro gun rights organizations as well, just to be fair.

Geek, that is beautiful! Maybe I need to get my mind out of the gutter but the hands choking the sheep...uhh...I...umm..., never mind.

Too much Deliverance :barf:

The Republican Party is worried that Bush has alienated too many of their core supporters by increasing the size of government, increasing government spending, increasing the welfare state, and trampling on at least 3 or 4 of the first ten amendments of the Constitution.

He has done a lot of things that we are afraid a Democrat might do if elected.

Thus, the Repubs have to resort to a "we will screw you less than the Democrats" campaign.

Including the SKS (most common), which is kind of ironic considering most of the ones I've seen are exempt from the AWB since they dont have detachable mags.

John Kerry on Defense -- I hadn't seen this list printed until today. It would make one hellova mailer if it were sent to voters.

He voted to kill the Bradley Fighting Vehicle
He voted to kill the M-1 Abrams Tank
He voted to kill every Aircraft carrier laid down from 1988
He voted to kill the Aegis anti aircraft system
He voted to Kill the F-15 strike eagle
He voted to Block 60 F-16
He voted to Kill the P-3 Orion upgrade
He voted to Kill the B-1
He voted to Kill the B-2
He voted to Kill the Patriot anti Missile system
He voted to Kill the FA-18
He voted to Kill the F117

In short, he voted to kill every military appropriation for the development and deployment of every weapons systems since 1988 to include the battle armor for our troops. With Kerry as president our Army will be made up of naked men running around with sticks and clubs.
He also voted to kill all anti terrorism activities of every agency of the U.S. Government and to cut the funding of the FBI by 60%, to cut the funding for the CIA by 80%, and cut the funding for the NSA by 80%.
But then he voted to increase OUR funding for U.N operations by 800%!!!

Is THIS a President YOU want?
