so, i am cultivating a new hunting spot. i am thinking of buying a bag of apples, and burying them one at a time, to grow apple trees in the future. my hopes are that in 5 years, there would be one apple producing tree for every 3 apples i plant. that would hopefully attract / hold deer in that area. what do you think??? would it work?? are my survival rates to high for the trees???

I found deer on my favorite piece of property in a little corner of the land adjacent to the roadway..., I also found a small but prolific apple tree there as well, and suspect an apple core tossed there several years ago is the reason, for the landowner has been there for 30 years and was unaware of the young tree. So it's a good idea. I'd agree, a couple of trees would be a better, faster idea. Just plant them rather close to each other, perhaps no more than 10-20 yards apart. If you plant several clusters of apples, and get several clusters of trees, you'll have several places to look for the deer, and no telling which trees the deer will pick on the day you hunt, or the time. A couple of trees, planted where you can see them both, will give you a great crop of apples, and a specific place to wait for the deer.
