Jukar flint rifle help

I'm not sure if it has powder or not. The gun had been thrown in a saltwater swimming pool by a crazy x wife. I had to use a pick to get the flash hole opened back up from all the rust. If there was powder would have went in the water and I also sprayed penetrateing oil in to prevent rust.
Dang man I gotta see what one that's been in a swimming pool looks like. I bet it's not a pretty sight

It was bad. He had 14 other guns that got thrown in too. I finally finished cleaning all of them. They all were just solid surface rust. Even a stainless one rusted

I would scrub the bore really good, so once you free up that ball, it won't have to travel through crud and rust all the way.
I bought a Pedersoli Kentucky .44 pistol years ago. After cleaning it it was heavily pitted. It was also very accurate pits and all ;)

Do you have an air compressor ?

Yes. I didn't know you could get one out of a flint lock that way?

Get a grease fitting same thread as nipple and use a grease gun to push ball out. Won't hurt barrel either if it's been in water.

That will definitely work if you can find a zerk with the same threads but will be a job getting the grease out.

Probably needs a thorough cleaning if it was in the pool. Once ball and charge is remove, I would use Evoporust solution and fill the barrel for 24 hours before cleaning.

Jukar is imported under CVA in the U. S. I have several .45 cap lock CVA rifles. Measure your barrel length and remember to add for something to grab so you can remove a ball or patch on an empty gun, but it may extend past the muzzle. CVA rods typically are near the barrel length. My ramrod in a .45 kit gun was 31 1/4 inches, 3/8 dia. I.D. in the thimbles AND about an inch too short down in the barrel. I can't find my size anywhere. I ordered a 9mm, 31 1/4" synthetic from Track of the Wolf # ramrod 316 CVA. It works in loading and shooting but not in cleaning. Cost is $17.99 plus another $10 shipping USPS. It comes with 10/32 brass female at both ends. I found a brass 3" 10/32 screw at a hardware store and will add an removable antler extension to the rod. A small threaded swab can work too. Otherwise you would need to buy an oversize rod and cut it down to size and add brass tips. A lot harder than it sounds.

9 mm is 0.356 rather than .0397. Thats what 1 mm is in Merica. Sorry about being the measurement Nazi. Blasted metric crap anyway!

I was wrong all the way around. My I.D. thimbles were 3/8" which is .375. Incorrectly, I took the info straight off of Google. Ya can't believe anything on the internet any more. LOL You are closer than I, but another source says .354" I bet you got your answer off of a powder manual, eh?

In my experiences one can use 9mm bullets in a .38 as the bullet diameter runs .355 to .356. Its not such a good idea to run 38/357 bullets in a 9 mm as the diameter runs .357 to .359. Tried it and noticed big difference in felt recoil. Was shooting an old Star model b. I think the pressures went up quite a bit using those slightly bigger bullets. And no, I was not using plus P loads, just middle of the road 9 mm loads.
