Great step-by-step narrative and accompanying photos! Lots of helpful information too! The AR and the Glock look perfect together!

Thanks for the comps.
I didn't go to in deep on the build because, I know that most of y'all have built one or two already. I just tried to hit a few key points that make building one easier.
I do have parts on order for my next build. It will be my first big bore build, a 458 Socom. I would do a step by step post with photos if I though it would help others.

I would like to see a step by step tutorial on a build, also touch on some problems that could show up at critical points. I think with your photo ability it would be a good one

Oh that is just great. Now the Dalai Gunny is going to build a AR for a different cartridge. :uhoh: My bank account can't even afford the ones he keeps posting pictures of now. :(

I had a .458. Kinda expensive to feed, but man do they hit hard.

Used it for deer once. Doe spun around and fell where she stood. Looked like a garden hose had sprayed red paint across the brush all around. I’ve gotten multiple dozens of deer and none went down faster.

It’s not going to be a range toy so feeding it won’t be a problem. Will most likely start off with some Black Butterfly ammo and then reload for it.

On mine I had feeding issues at first. Tried all kinds of different loads, etc.

Finally got ticked off and hosed it down with some PTFE gel Teflon lube. Ran great after that.

By that time, the shine had gone off and I was tired of messing with it, so it went away. Also, firearm laws for deer changed here and there were better alternatives

IIRC, at that time load recommendations were hard to come by. I tried H-110 and AA 1680. I believe the 1680 worked best, but I suspect things have changed a lot since then
