Love mine. Got it when they first came out because I couldn't get a S&W 9mm Shield. I normally carry my Gen2.5 G26, but I switch out with the G2.

Everything I've read or seen about this model suggests that Taurus has a winner on their hands. Their semiautomatic are hit and miss most times. I have their 1911 bought when they were first released, it's still my normal EDC. I don't think I'd trust any other semiautomatic from Taurus besides this and the G2.

I liked my PT111 G2, but I traded it and a Glock 21 for an FNP 45 with night sights.

IMO if the PT111 G2 had no manual safety, it would be much better.

I really haven't heard much of peoples experience with these Taurus PT111 G2 pistols shooting premium SD ammo.

As a matter of principle and pride, I only shoot what I load.

I bought one 20 round box of .223 Remington that I used to verify my Mini-14 worked and to help set up my reloading dies. I still have 17 of those rounds.

Similarly, I borrowed a 9mm Federal HyroShok round from a friend to use in setting up my 9mm dies. Once I get a 9mm load optimized, I intend to load up some personal defense rounds using 115 grain Hornady XTP bullets. I've made a note to come back and post on this forum how they perform coming out of the PT111 that I bought last month.

I had previously owned a Taurus 24/7 and after months of problems gave up on it. I went Sig, Walther, HK and CZ......then I started hearing about the 2nd Gen of Taurus pistols and it seemed to good to be true....so I started researching them like crazy, and after several years, I dove in and bought 2 for some bug out bags and convinced another friend to purchase one. We got them all for $199.....I thought the egos were great, and the recoil was low for this size of gun.....I loved that it was double stack and 2nd strike capable.....however, all 3 sights were off from the factory, and could not be adjusted to zero, they ran out of clicks but did get close.....my friends trigger broke on his second trip out, and I finally couldn't deal with the long trigger pull any more....I decided for about a $130 more I would rather have another Walther PPS, which is my current EDC,and has never had an issue of any kind.....just my experience

The Taurus Millennium Pro and later pistols are really very nice, but the original Millennium pistols gave the whole line a bad rep. Also, the early Pro models has a potentially very serious issue where the safety could be applied with the trigger not fully forward leaving the pistol in a state where it could be fired with the safety on if the trigger was then pulled. There are threads about it here from a few years ago.

If I see these on sale again for < $198.00 total price, I will get one to throw in my GHB.

At that price I don't think I can go wrong.

I'm another happy pt111 G2 owner. I bought mine as a blemish gun from kygunco. If I remember correctly I gave $177 for it.

I'd be fine with a blem, I'm just going to be putting it in a get-home-bag anyway.

You will be happy with your purchase. As many have said this is a very good gun at any price but a great gun at the going price. I have one and am very happy with it.

The only problem with my G2 is my hand!

The distance from the back of grip to trigger break is a bit short for my hand.

Put 3 strips of Black Diamond tape on the back edge of grip to lengthen the distance.

Still shoots low and left BUT by only half as much!!!

Took a month off from shooting and getting a refresher lesson to hold the G2 inline with my arm. Cut that half by half!!!

I bought another one a few days ago, should be here soon. I've put the stainless guide rod in my first one, and added a fiber optic front sight. The new one will stay stock.

Just purchased a Taurus Millennium PT111 G2

I said If I saw these on sale again for < $198.00 total price, I would get one to throw in my GHB.

They went on sale again at Whittaker Guns for 184.99 + 12.99 S&H so I got one.

I have to wait for it to ship.

Its weird, Taurus isn't even consistent with the naming of the gun between their catalog and the engraving on the gun itself. In the catalog it is simply called the MILLENNIUM G2 and the 9mm version is model 111G2. In the description it is called the PT 111. On the gun itself on the left side of the slide it is stamped or engraved "MILLENNIUM G2" on the right side of the slide it is stamped or engraved "PT111 G2 9mm" I don't know.. I guess the full nomenclature of the gun is "MILLENNIUM G2 PT111 G2 9mm"

G2 squared ? :scrutiny:
