I have an XD9SC and plan to get a XD45 soon. For people used to 1911 style guns they point naturally instead of having the more severe grip angle like Glocks and other euro guns. Makes the transition to plastic easier 
Mine has the old slide finish so it's getting a nice brown/red rust coating on it if the light hits it right, but SA said they'd refinish it in the new stuff for free anytime I want to ship them the slide. I'll wear it out a little more then send it in.
