came w/3 mags (2 w/pinky extensions).

i have the crimson trace for it already.

I'm looking for a holster and something to carry the 2 spare mags. (I have a CCW).
The only reason for the mag pouch is that i plan to take a 1day carbine course. they'll teach me how to switch from my AR-15 to sidearm. They want us to bring 3 mags for each.

also, Heard something about an Apex trigger? Is it easy for a beginner to install?

Any other things to get for it?

+1 on the Crossbreed holster. I replaced the sights on mine with a set of Operator Night Sights from Ameriglo. I recommend shooting a few hundred rounds before tinkering with the trigger. I personally think its a waste of money. After about 7000 rounds I thought the reset had softened in mine so I installed a heavier trigger return spring but its been a fine shooter without it too.

the apex trigger i put in on my M&P 45 was nothing short of amazing. I "youtubed" the directions and installed it in about 30-45 minutes with zero issues.it really fixes the shabby pull on the M&P. Oh, get the new sear setup from them too with the trigger.

I would also recommend the Crossbreed SuperTuck. My daily carry is a stock M&P .40 and in the Florida heat, the Crossbreed was by far the most comfortable holster I've tried. Also, be sure to invest in a good gun belt. It makes a huge difference in regards to comfort.

Agreed. Invest in trigger time before an "upgrade" as you find you might not want it after all. I was seriously considering improvements upon my trigger before I even brought my M&P40c home. Once I took it to the range, I found there was absolutely nothing wrong with it that made tinkering necessary.

I haven't tried other M&P autos, so perhaps I really got lucky with pistol with an acceptable trigger.
If you're having an issue with the trigger, than certainly address it. However, if you're not, then perhaps it's not something you need to concern yourself with.

(Old thread - I know - but I have similar questions so I don't see the need to start a new one.)

After renting many 9mm semi-auto's and brief ownership of a revolver my wife went to the M&P9c like a moth to a light. It fits me a little tight, even with the grip extension, but I'd like to get some double-duty out of it while I decide what full-size, semi-auto I want for myself.

Anyone have experience with XGrips? If I understand correctly they cost ~$15 and make it possible to use standard, full-size (17-round) magazines.

M&P magazines are bastards to load. I'm getting a Uplula. Is there a model-specific version for M&P's or will the standard loader do?

Finally, I'd like to outfit my M&P9c with a tactical light and night sights. Being a Streamlight product I assume the TLR-3 is a good choice. What about night sights? Is the 3.5” barrel a stepchild?

They [Uplula's] are worth whatever they charge.

Best $33 I ever spent.

I'm down to two dots out of three after today's trip to the range (see attached). I heard people were loosing the fronts. I intended to upgrade as I'm sure S&W expects most people will do, but it still irks me they continue to install parts with known problems on an otherwise sharp little gun. :fire:

I realize there's a reason for buying the compact, but maybe a fullsize magazine and an XGrip spacer? Trying the compact with the fullsize magazine is what sold me on it. It felt perfect in my hand with the shorter barrel and regular size grip.

Also if you like kydex holsters try Peters Custom holsters. I use one for my edc and I haven't found one better.

17 round magazine and Xgrip adapter. Best accessories I've found in the 4 years I've had mine.

I have Apex trigger components in all of my M&P's. The one that is a must, in my opinion, is their USB (Ultimate Safety Block). This little gem completely removes that gritty/sandy feeling in the pre-travel and smooths out the entire pull.

And yes, it's a simple install.

I've never experienced a gritty trigger in my M&Ps. Maybe I'm not that picky. I did put a heavier trigger spring in mine when the stock one got a little soft. I also installed the RAM but I don't think that made as much difference for me than the heavier spring. Until the trigger spring weakened (around 8000 rounds) I thought the trigger pull was pretty good.
