First time, amatuer kitchen table gunsmith. I can do some things
Anyhow, I bought Jack Weigand's extractor adjusting arbor and guage set to get my 1911 Ed Brown Hardcor Extractor set to 25-28 pds as he suggested, got it to 26 after a two tries.
Idiot who installed it for me originally, who "claimed" to be a gunsmith (and who ruined my nice older Model 60 by widening by filing a cylinder stop notch to correct a slow-time issue...) didn't even tension the damn thing.
Extracts and feeds alot better now that it is PROPERLY done.
If anyone doesn't have his tool, it makes the job cake. Brownells has it and Jack sells the set direct for less on his website jackweigand.com
