Went to the gun shop today and got a brand new G17.I've never had a Glock and I'm very excited and ill be picking her up tomorrow. I was wondering what holster I should get( I do like the plastic quick draw holsters) Does this site have a glock club that talks about aftermarket springs and other parts? I will be taking her to the range this sunday and will be putting in about 200 rounds. Any tips and suggestions greatly apreciated. Thanks in advance

For a holster, look into the Blawkhawk Serpa. glocktalk.com be able to answer any of your Glock questions

I like Warren's tactical sights in three dot configuration. The front tritium is brighter than the 2 in the rear and the front sight isn't so blocky like factory's.

Congrats on the G17! The glock that started it all and probably the most inherently bulletproof model.

I'm gonna start looking into night sights everyone keeps talking about. I do have a streamlight TLR-1S at home that I've had for a while sittin around. Do you still need the sights if you mount the light to it?

I recommend blade tech, they make some of the best molded plastic holsters in my opinion.

Fobus is also great.

Congratulations on your purchase. I too own a G17. They are awesome.

I would test the gun at night with the light mounted. I have found that when I have a light mounted I have no issue seeing the factory sights.

Did you buy it at Hoffmans?

For shooting in low light situations, Tritium night sights are a great thing to have. Yes, they will help if you use a rail mounted light, may not need the light with night sights, and they will not give your position away

Yes, you still need tritium sights because you should not use the mounted light to see your sights. Leaving the light on that long will get you shot!

The basic premise behind the technique is only use a minimal amount of white light to identify your target, then if needed another “flashbulb” application to determine if it is a threat. After that, engage if necessary to eliminate the threat. The entire time continue to move so if the target begins to return fire it is directed at where you just left, not where you are located now.

Weapon mounted lights should NOT be used like a regular flashlight, unlike what most of their detractors believe...

Just thought I'd chime in....I always respond to any "just got my new Glock__" threads by congratulating them. Good taste......good taste, you will not hate it that's for sure, in fact, now this is just my opinion, it is probably the best handgun you own, and I only say that because I think the Glock 17 is the best damn handgun in the world

Just went to the range today and put around 200 rounds through her and I was impressed and no hiccups. I shot lots of bullseyes and she felt good in my hand.
