Just ordered a Milt Sparks VM2!

I just called about an hour ago and ordered a VM2 for my Colt Gov't model. I ordered it in cordovan with the sharkskin trim. I was told they are about 20 weeks out!! Oh well, I hope the wait is worth it

Well worth the wait. Ordered my in January and got it in 16 weeks. Same deal - Cordovon and Sharkskin - some shots.

Hey sgt...your pictures of the holster on the 1911 forums were what got me off my butt to order a VMII instead of messing around with inferior stuff from local gunshops. So until it arrives I won't be carrying the 1911 but oh well.

P.S. I still won't be sticking my WWI repro into it but I think it's cool if you put yours in the holster (I'm JoeT on the 1911 forum).

I have been considering ordering a VM-II. So far I have yet to read anything bad about them other than the fact that they are not free and have a sizeable lead-time (I would not consider these things bad, just the effects of a product in high demand). Do y'all recommend ordering a mag holder and gun belt from Milt Sparks at the same time as the holster? Also, are the tuckable Kydex clips a good option to get? FYI, this will be my first carry rig.

A matched set would definitely be nice if you don't have the other components. I have a 5-stitch wilderness belt that works fine for me. I ordered the clips as well, but haven't tried them yet. I've seen some discussion that many folks don't like the clips as it is hard to tuck properly and not have it look too obvious that you are carrying, but I haven't tried mine yet.
