Can't wait to get it. I went to my normal dealer today and he called 3 different wholesalers. None of them had it in stock. I found a good price on one on gunbroker. Will cost me just under $500 with shipping and insurance and another $10 for transfer. Seems to be real popular right now. All the reviews I have read on them have been good. The only naysaying I have seen for them is the Taurus brand naysayers. I'm not expecting a Les Baer by any stretch of the imagination. I wanted a 1911 to target shoot with and for my wife to target shoot as well. The first 1911 I had was a para ordnance p10. She loved shooting it and figured she'd like a full size even better. If she can outshoot this Taurus, I'll buy her a $1500 race gun.

Only thing Ive heard bad is the finish wears very fast, But it to shoot not show . Hope you enjoy it and wife will love after shooting a P-10 anything better.

I always heard complaints about the p10 hurting your palms from the short grip. It didn't bother either one of us. I got this Taurus for a shooter, not to carry. IIRC, she got bit by the slide a few times but I can't remember if that was the p10 or another gun. I'm thinking the beavertail grip safety will eliminate that problem. She likes to shoot two handed. I know this isn't a IDPA race gun or anything but when the both of us can outshoot this gun, we'll splurge for something better. I looked at a couple of low end Springfields today and the barrel and feed ramps looked terrible. I had a springfield compact v10 and it fed horribly. I finally traded it back to the dealer I got it from for a glock 27. I really wanted the springfield us gi but I knew that gun will never be anything near a target gun. I want that one for nostalgia. I'll shoot the taurus and buy the us gi later for the safe.

A friend picked one up at a local shop a month or two ago.

Nice shooting gun. Well put together. Don't know about the finish but it's on my list of guns to get..... if I can find one ;)

My friendly local dealer got one in stock a couple of days before Christmas. I like it - the grip and checkering feels good in the hand, though I didn't try the trigger. Could have done without the gold accents, though.

I'll be keeping an eye out for the stainless 9mm version.

I bought one a few months back. The finish is the weak point of the gun. I would rather see a conventional blue on the gun.

The 3.5 pound trigger is sweet. Very little overtravel.

The jury is out on the sights. Not sure if I like them or not.
