Well, I picked up the little Ruger yesterday evening,,,
Man I had forgotten just how small they are,,,
It's barely bigger than my 22-PLY.

I had recommended the LCP to a lady friend of mine,,,
As it turns out she didn't like the pistol at all,,,
I decided to buy it from her.

So now my friend isn't stuck with a pistol she doesn't like,,,
And I have a new "set" of pistols to encase.

Meet Ruth the LC9, Idgie the SR22, and Evelyn the LCP.

I barely had time to run to the range and pop off a quick 21 rounds,,,
I will definitely be buying one of those Hogue grip sleeves,,,
The recoil of the LCP is "snappy" to say the least,,,
And no, I won't be buying the pink sleeve.

They really are great little carry guns when you simply CAN'T carry anything bigger. My work attire in the summer prohibits me from carrying most anything that doesn't fit in my back pocket. From May-August, the LCP gets more carry time than any other gun.

I don't have a name for mine, but my daughter's name is Evelyn;)

Now, if I could just find some non-Tula .380 ammo around here at a decent price. My LCP doesn't like it at all. Doesn't agree with her more refined digestive tract I guess:evil:

About that LC9,,,

Hello jimbo555:

...how is Ruth working out for you?

Actually she is working just fine,,,
I have close to 300 rounds total through her,,,
So far she's eaten every type of ammo I've fed to her.

The trigger pull is definitely long,,,
But it's not anything a person couldn't get used to.

As far as the feel of the gun goes,,,
She fit's my K-frame hands perfectly.

Hello Fiv3r:

It's just a fun thing to name my handguns,,,
I figure if Davy Crocket could do it then so can I. ;)

These three are named after three movie characters,,,
Evelyn, Ruth, and Idgie were the ladies in "Fried Green Tomatoes".

This is my third pistol in 380 ACP,,,
My Bersa will run Tula ammo all day long,,,
My Beretta 85 doesn't seem to like it as much.

The 21 rounds I ran through her yesterday were Federal,,,
She chewed 'em up and spit 'em out very nicely.

Oklahoma is miserable for conceal carry in the summer,,,
I mostly carry off-body in my GTM Briefcase,,,
Hopefully Evelyn will be easier to carry.

Hi aarondhgraham, I agree on the lcp being snappy. I enjoy shooting my Beretta 84bb much more! I bought a lc9 in dark earth. Not as vivid as yours, but I like it and mine has been reliable also. The trigger feels better than your average double action j-frame to me.

My wife didn't like the LCP either. Trigger too long and recoil spring too stiff. I've got a Crimson Trace laser grip on mine and it is about as easy to carry as I've ever seen.

The LCP's definitely have a long trigger,,,

The LCP's definitely have a long trigger,,,
But it's something I really don't mind too much.

It is useable and with no safety I would rather have it be a bit heavy and long,,,
This isn't a range toy so pinpoint accuracy at 25 yards isn't necessary,,,
If I can keep my shots in a 4-6" circle at 21' I'll be a happy man.

I found a Hogue grip adaptor at a local store,,,
I'll pick that up tonight and hopefully get to shoot it this weekend.

The sights on mine are so small as to be somewhat useless,,,
I have read that was changed on later versions,,,
I'll just practice point shooting it,,,
It worked for my J-frames.

I must be weird, because I don't think it recoils that bad, but I have smaller sized hands. Now it was to thin, I could not get a good grip on the slide. Boy it slung brass every which way though, so you really had to hunt for brass.

I don't mind the recoil on it either. Seems pretty mild to me, but I also shoot a lot of 357 and 44.

I installed the Hogue grip on it last night,,,

I haven't been able to fire it as of yet,,,
But now it fills the swell of my hand.

Felt recoil is difficult to define,,,
The .380 ACP cartridge isn't brutal like the .357 mag,,,
But in a pistol as small as the LCP the force is concentrated on a smaller area.

I want to tame the felt recoil just enough,,,
To be able to enjoy the range practice,,,
'cause this gun need practicing with.
