I went to Hyatt Guns in Charlotte, a bit pricy, but the staff is great, great selection, and but you can negotate and sometimes you can find good deals (Just not on new S&Ws)
anwyays, I was looking about, looked at some ruger Speed sixes and other .22 revolvers, nothing that really knocked my socks off, so I looked at potental CCW revolvers.
Missed it on the first go around, but found a bueaty.
Charter arms bulldog, stainless and hammerless.
I did the full checkout on it, as charter arms repuation is "most are good, but there are lemons that get out" and at least as far as I can tell, it was in fine working shape. (looked over it for about 1/2 a hour), and negoatiated to a fair price ($400, yes, I know the can go for less elseware, but I like Hyatts service, layaway plan, and the fact that I can handle the gun before I buy)
Put the downpayment on it, and will pick it up after getting my NC handgun purchase permit (NC requires a handgun purchase permit, that replaces the FBI background check, it takes me about 1/2 hour to get in Ashe) and my vacation. Happy Bday to myself
I was impressed by the size and layout of the Bulldog, reminds me of the SP101 (but lighter) and this bulldog had a very nice trigger pull. This will end up being a CCW/Car/woods gun. I sweat, thus the Hammerless/stainless combo makes a good choice for my uses.
