Just read about this Ammo search engine

Guess it's like Ammo Seek but also estimates shipping. Might be useful to those looking for best price in stock.

I initially thought "That's great!" as another tool for "22LR lowest shipped pricing" thread - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...-shipped-pricing.902560/page-16#post-12851247

But when I click on "Sort" button for "CPR/Cost Per Round" and check the "Estimate Shipping" button, I see 4 cents per round change to 6-10 cents per round for first 10 listings.

Well, the "22LR lowest shipped pricing" thread listing is capped at $30/500 (Below 6 cents per round) shipped ...

So I click on "Sort" button for "Price" and find first listing for Armscor 40 gr LRN that show same CPR indicating to me free shipping - https://www.foundryoutdoors.com/pro...oft-point-50-bx-100-cs?variant=12196253990996

CPR Without Shipping $0.05
CPR After Shipping $0.05
But when I go to the website, free shipping excludes ammunition

So then I click on "Estimate Shipping" button for Aguila 40 gr CPRN priced 5 cents per round ($2.49/50 rounds):

CPR Without Shipping $0.05
CPR After Shipping $0.05

But when I went to the website and added 100 boxes, I am presented with following - https://copperstaraz.com/products/22lr-40gr-high-velocity-copper-plated?variant=45275577516265

FedEx Home Delivery 3 business days $47.15
UPS Ground 2 business days $50.58

A bit disappointed, to say the least.

I am going to continue using AmmoSeek with filtering of "No Bolt Action" and "Free Shipping" - https://ammoseek.com/ammo/22lr?ekw=bolt action&sh=lowest

How about what? What are you asking?
Have you tried AmmoSeek to find Grendel ammo?

Using bulkcheapammo.com brings up Nemo 120 gr FMJ at $0.90/round sold by PSA but with $13.49 shipping on 10 boxes ($193.39) comes out at just under $0.97/round - https://www.bulkcheapammo.com/rifle-ammo/65mm-grendel

Using AmmoSeek brings up Hornady Frontier 123 gr FMJ at $0.971/round with free shipping on $250+ orders and Prvi Partizan 110 gr FMJ sold by SG Ammo at $0.948/round with free shipping - https://ammoseek.com/ammo/6.5mm-grendel?sh=lowest

LOL. You actually quoted my post but didn't read it, I guess, hence why I could not fathom what you are trying to get at with your reply. I have actually used Ammo Seek for years. Here is what you quoted from me. Bold face is the part you missed.

Yeah, it won't have what everyone wants, but no site does. However, it has been invaluable for me in finding Grendel ammo at decent prices.

So look at different dealers or just don't use the search engine

Shipping will vary depending on where you are and where the company is.

Forgive my ignorance, but aren't some of these search engines kinda rigged= meaning, the sellers have to pay to be listed? I say that, because I remember when the panic hit in 2020, I had done a good deal of online searching on my own, and had found places with better pricing (places I had previously found and ordered from, so I knew they weren't scams). I'd picked up a couple extra cases of 9mm Luger at $200 while the price was skyrocketing then.

Yes. We found that out during the "Great Shortage" of 2012.

While many were using "gunbot.net" and "wikiarms.com" for ammunition and components, we started seeing time lag so by the time they were listed on the "search bot", they were often already sold out.

Another thing we started noticing is not all vendors were listed on the "search bots" and some members mentioned that "search bots" started charging fees to be listed. Graf's/Recob's/3rd Generation, etc. we used were often never listed on these "search bots" while MidwayUSA/Brownells/Powder Valley, etc. were.

So we decided to launch our own THR member supported "real time" component listing that listed unobtainium items before they were listed/never listed on "search bots" in 2013 - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...nts-available-not-a-discussion-thread.707473/

It's wisdom, not ignorance. A huge chunk of everything returned in an internet search is a result of paid sales and marketing, PR, or agenda-driving at this point. People who don't recognize this are suckers, not ignoramuses. As opposed to the old slogan from the earlier days of the internet, it should be known as the misinformation superhighway nowadays.
