I've loaded some 80Gr Barnes TTSX for my Marlin Xl7 25-06. They shoot roughly half inch 3 shot groups at one hundred yards. My only problem is I don't know the exact speed they are coming out due to the Marlins 22" barrel.
The load is
54.4 grs IMR 4350
80 gr Barnes TTSX
If anyone could give me a muzzle velocity on this It would be greatly appreciated.

The data will provide you with an estimate based on the test barrel, or rifle they used. But the only way to actually know with any real accuracy, is to shoot those loads over a chrony.

With that said, Hogdon published that bullet and powder produces 3600 fps at max charge, so your load being just .6 grs. under max should be running around 3500 fps.

If you want anything mroe accurate than that, which is little more than a guess, you'll need to chrony that load.

There are a couple of other ways to estimate bullet velocity:

1. A ballistics pendulum.

2. Another way, is to determine the amount a bullet drops say between 100 and 200 yards. Then, if you know the ballistic coefficient of the bullet, you can use a drop table or ballistics software to estimate velocity.

Of course, a chronograph is best.
