Ka-Bar and sharpeners

I just bought a Ka-Bar Extreme D2 knife and wanted to get a field-expedient sharpener for it. Ka-Bar offers a Redi-Edge sharpener but I have no idea if this thing is what I want. 34* sounds like the wrong angle. Anyone have any experience or other suggestions? Looking for something small that'll fit in the Eagle pouch that came with it. I am the world's worst knife sharpener using a stone BTW.

The 34 degree angle is the total angle leaving 17 degree sharpening angle. Not much sharpener, but it should be sufficient for keeping and edge on the knife.

My favorite compact shapener is Gatco's MicroX.
