Buds' has em' for $417...I've been waiting to snag one since I heard about them, however,I've seen some great prices on the PM9's lately... I'm wondering if it's a better deal to go for the PM9 instead...I've seen them as low as $519.. The wife just got a CW9 for her purse, and it's awesome as well..Decisions decisions...

For a difference of $100, I'd definitely go for the PM9. I find the extra touches the PM9 offers, well worth the cost. The PM9 is my main t-shirt weather gun.

I'm considering one, I need to find one at a decent price locally or at a funshow to handle before I bite though. Looks like the perfect package for my wants though. $420ish seems very competitive IMO.

Gunblast has a review if anyone hadn't seen it yet: http://www.gunblast.com/Kahr-CM9.htm

^ He never reviews a firearm that he doesn't like, prob. because the gun companies know his reviews pop up early in a Google search and they can get good exposure and he gets his shooting subsidized. Gunblast.com is what it is, but he does have lots of good pictures and specs, and that's what I use the site for.

He lost just a bit of credibility in my book when I read that he uses "Extreme Shock!!!" ammunition to test his guns.

Don't need the CM9 as I already have a PM9 & for something a tad bit smaller I have the P380 also. LM

A PM9 for $519 is used, the cheapest I found online is $615 plus shipping, personally I can't think of any "extra touches" that the PM9 has that are worth an extra $100, much less the $200+ price difference new.

I've been waiting for the CM9, but I haven't found them in stock anywhere yet, I just checked Buds and they still have the CM9 listed as out of stock for $410.

Confound it! I just did buy a PM9 last October. Even if it was a difference of only $100 I'd still get the CM9. That can buy extra magazines, holsters, and ammo.

Is it just me or does that guy from gunblast call every firearm he gets. Dandy

Yes, everything he gets is a dandy little gun. I don't go to his website to get an honest review, more to look at the pretty pictures and specs (and the intro music to his videos is really nice). He does occasionally admit when he gets a malfunction or broken part, but he's quick to come up with an excuse for it.

I also can't explain his love for extreme shock ammo. Frangible ammo for SD? No thank you.

In addition to the polygonal barrel, no MIM parts and better sights the PM9 comes with two magazines. If that's not worth an extra $100 I don't what is!

There isn't going to be any noticeable difference between the different barrel rifling, plenty of people say their CW9 is very accurate, and it has the same rifling as the CM9, and the only MIM part that the CM9 has is the slide release, which is a low stress part and can be easily swapped out for a PM9 slide release for around $30 if it bothers you. The sights aren't better, the front sight is just attached differently, the sights still work the same, and many polymer handguns have pinned front sights, including Glocks. Magazines cost $30, so that extra $100 can buy 3 more mags, giving you a total of 4 for the same price as the PM9 with 2. Also, as I said, $519 is for a used PM9, comparing prices between a new gun and a used one isn't an accurate comparison.

I can get the Kahr PM9 locallys for $599 new. They haven't gotten a CM9 yet but I wonder what they would be selling it for.

The CM9 is selling for ~$430 locally....that's a significant difference from the $680 of the base PM9....Now if I can just find one.

A 3" polygonal barrel is unnecessary. At the range these guns were intend to hit their target in standard rifling is more than good enough. If you do your part you can hit steel plates all day long with a CW9 at 25 yards. If you can hit the same plates with a PM9 then you will be able to hit them with a CM9. Its the Indian not the arrow. The rifling will not make you a better shooter.

Sight construction is different but functionally they are the same. If you like the PM9 great. Its a great gun. Your money spend it how you want. I know that when I bought my CW9 for $140 less than the PM9 I got the gun 2 mags and a IWB Alessis Talon holster. You may not have made the same choice and that is cool but for me having an entire CCW setup like the CW9 OTD for just over $500 was the right choice for me. The PM9 wold have cost me at least another $50 to get a holster. Pushing the difference to almost $200.

The PM9 would have cost me $620 + $20 shipping + transfer $10 Total $650

The CW9 setup cost me $360 shipped + $10 transfer + $40 holster + $29 for the extra mag. Total $510

I personally did not need the ultra concealablity of the PM9 and I found I shot the CW9 better due to it more comfortable grip.

The only tangible advantage to polygonal rifling I've experienced is easier cleaning. The fouling seems to come off better after a few swipes with the bore brush compared to standard rifling. That's not a deal breaker though.

As said in my original post here is where I saw them new for $519..., GT Dist is selling the PM9 for $519...I spoke to a salesman there in Austin and he claimed they were not used or refurbs...I myself thought that couldn't be so I understand what you're saying..However they say they are new...I saw this posted on the Kahr forum..Here is the link...

I got my PM9 new for $555 shipped. To me it's well worth the price. Of course, it's great that Kahr offers an economy version too, for those who don't need the features the PM9 offers.

Nice price... Anyone order from them? That changes the numbers quiet a bit.

That's all fine, but based on the logic in your post the CW9 isn't necessary either since a much less expensive PF9 would fill your requirements as well.

Looking at the website it appears that they only sell firearms to law enforcement and military personnel? That would explain the low prices, $519 has to be pretty close to if not under what regular dealers pay for the PM9, it is a pretty good deal if you qualify, or maybe I'm just misreading their weapons policy.

No,I received an email from their store in Austin...They said they had a few of each model left...They quoted me $519 plus $30 to ship to my FFL...No mention of LE or military only...Also,there's quite a few guys on Kahr Talk that bought from them giving the great reviews, again no mention of LE or military only...I'm calling them this morning to order one...I'll post what the results are...

Interesting, on their weapons policy page it says:
"Sales of FNH USA products, Sig Sauer, Springfield, Ruger and Smith & Wesson weapons are limited to Law enforcement and Military personnel. "
It also says that Glock sales are somewhat restricted as well, and I can't find anything about shipping to FFL's on the website, it just says they cannot sell to individual officers in some states due to state transfer laws. Maybe they somehow got a discount rate from Kahr without having to agree to only sell to LE? I am curious how they're selling them for what I'm sure is below normal dealer cost, interested to see how your order turns out. Depending on how long it takes me to find a CM9 in stock, I might have to think about that deal if they still have any.
