Since it seems most are unimpressed at best with the customer service department at Kahr, I thought I'd share my experience. I purchased a CW45 through Bud's. Coming to the 200 round mark they recommend for break in, reliability markedly improved. Yes, a break in period is debatable but the fitment seems much tighter than my G21SF which is the closest pistol in design and function I own.

Fast forward to Saturday afternoon and I had an odd malfunction somewhere a stovepipe and a double feed. The live round was locked in the extractor but the ejected brass somehow managed to lay flat on top of it. The spent case was pinched between the slide face and the barrel hood. Upon inspecting the gun/magazine I found the follower had somehow been cracked below the metal insert for the slide lock.

I sent a quick email to CS @ Kahr which was promptly answered @ 8:05 this morning. Impressive especially being a holiday. Either way, just wanted to leave a positive experience for those googling Kahr issues and customer service.

I'm honestly impressed with the gun. Fit and finish are a bit lesser than the P45 series but the price reflects it. It's as accurate as anyone could expect from a short barreled .45. I think I may be in love with the trigger though.

I had a positive experience with them with a cracked slide on an MK9 years ago. New slide and recoil spring arrived a couple days later. No problems since.

Thanks for your post. Too many times people only bring up all the negatives. I dealt with Kahr directly as I bought my PM9 directly through them on an Instructors purchase program. I also found them to be easy to deal with.
BTW, them make a really fine product. I carry mine 95% of the time.

I think many CS problems stem from the attitude of the custumer and how info is passed along to the CS people. Some relay info well and some pitch a fit and then complan to everone.

I had a question on a cm9 about possible wear in the lug area. CS asked for photos , I sent them in and they called me back to say they wanted to see the handgun right away. Sent a shipping label and heading to them that day. The pistol was returned in 8 or 9 days total time with a new recoil spring and barrel. Not sure how a company could be any better.

My newly purchased PM40 suffered a broken magazine catch spring after 25 rounds or so.
Called Kahr and they said I should have the dealer send it back. I asked to have new sights installed while it was there. They said sure no problem they'd send me a bill.
Pistol came back in about a week, but no new sights.:-(
Called them and asked what happened. They said they'd made an error and sent me the new dights at no cost.
I was satisfied with they're service. I'm not perfect so I can't expect everyone else to be.

I had a CW40 that I had all kinds of feeding issues with even after the break in period. I called their CS and they were polite and had me ship the pistol in. The problem is, I had to ship it next day air and it cost me $75. This is on a pistol that was only $400 new.

I think if a manufacturer has a warranty and you need to ship the pistol in for warranty work, the manufacturer should at least send you a label and cover the shipping cost both ways. I'm not sure if other manufacturers do this or not as the Kahr has been the only pistol that I've had to send back under warranty.

Anyway, they did resolve the issues and the gun functioned fine after that....until I sold it.

Allway send letter with the pistol of what you want done!!

Allways tell them you want a shipping label!! They will mail you one.

Several months ago I bought....... hold on to your hat, now............ an Auto Ordnance 1911 (made by Kahr), and despite their less-than-stellar reputation, I find it's better fitted and more reliable than my early Colt 1991. Haven't had a need to actually use their customer service - it's been 100 percent reliable - but I have emailed them with questions and they've always gotten back to me promptly.

The only fault I can find with the 1911 is that it has ride-the-link-itis, but I gather that a lot of production 1911's have that these days.

Might be good to know that Kahrs are known for cracking followers on 40 and 45s.

So was it good service or covering up a known issue quickly?

<--had same problem with a PM40.

I carry a Kahr P-45 daily, and a P-380 on Sundays.

I've never had a problem with either one. My brother carries a CW-45, and his runs perfectly also.

It took them three trips to finally fix my P380, but the customer service was always great. The phone person that is. Whoever was calling themselves a gunsmith and was working on the P380 definitely sucked.

And I had three followers break in my PM40. They initially just sent followers, but finally took the gun in, and did some work on the ramp. I sold it before I found if that did the trick or not. I had never had one break in my 10 year old K40 or 2 year old CW 40.

I believe hardluk1 is exactly right. Seems with Kahr the people who talk nice to the customer service reps get shipping labels, the ones who pitch a fit on the phone seem to pay their own freight. I base this on many posts read on the Kahr forum and others suffering with similar problems I was having with my P380 over the year it took to get it fixed.

Remember, that customer service rep isn't the one who made the pistol. So taking it out on them is counterproductive. They have the power to send a shipping label, or not.

I don't have much to say about Kahr customer service other than the fact I've never had to use them.

My CM9 has functioned perfectly from the moment I first took it out of the box.

I have a few Kahrs, three 9mm and one 380. When I have used their cs I have had no problems ymmv

I bought a CW9 used & had numerous FTF issues. I took it to a gunsmith, who then sent it to Kahr. The CS guy was great & called me & explained that he had worked on many brands of pistols throught the years, & Kahrs were more "finicky" than most & that limp wristing & other shooting flaws may cause the CW9 to not perform properly. That alarmed me as I'm not the perfect marksman, but had no issues like this with other pistols. He replaced the springs at no charge & when I got it back, I put 20 rounds through it with no FTF (I was averaging about a 60% FTF rate before), but I sold it afterwards as I just didn't have faith in the pistol. But, again, CS was great.

On 2 CW 45s & a CW 40, I have received good CS.

The bad thing is, I have had to use their CS.

No more Kahr for me - none / nada. JMO

I own a Auto Ordinance 1911 Thompson Custom, made by Kahr- and it's one of the best 1911s I've owned.

I had an intermittent issue with the slide stop popping out. With one phone call, Kahr sent me a new one, free, despite the pistol being several years old, and hard used.

A cracked base plate/finger grip from the 7 round magazine for my PM9 was also promptly replaced.

Nice to hear happy endings on the intrawebz for a change.

I picked up a used T9 that was missing a set screw for the drift adjustable Novak rear sight.

Emailed Kahr CS and got a response within 24 hours that a replacement would be sent out ASAP.

It was.

I realize it's just a set screw but it bodes well for the future if I have any other issues with the T9, the MK9 or either of the K9's.

Yeah, I like Kahrs.

big One thing you need to understand about ANY make firearm. With production as high as it has been for several years and the lack of the skilled people all had back when most handguns had some fitting done instead of todays part assembers know that you can buy a high dollar pistol and get a firearm that need to go back right away. You buy , you shoot it enought to proof that it works and then you carry it. It use to be very different across the industry.

The breaking followers seems to a small number of the feed ramps are striking the follower after last round is fired and over time a small number have been broken. Kahr will fix the problem IF it should show on a pistol by take'n a few thousanths off the bottom of the ramp and all is good again. I have a couple 9mm's and a 40 kahr and have showed no contact with the few thousand rounds I have fired. I would say if your follers are fine after a couple hundred rounds or fired it will be fine. I do not pay much attention to what is said about a firearm on these forums. To easy to spend 1500 dollars today on a custom shop pistol that has to go back from round one. Or a 250 dollar pistols that is said to be junk by the overly expressive few that runs like a sewing machine.

I've had nothing but good experience with Kahr. Owned a CW9 and put a lot of ammo though it. Never had a problem. Sold it and bought a CM9. It came with the end cap on the recoil spring missing. First time at range it kept jamming. Then I looked at a pic of a new one and saw that mine was different. Called Kahr and CS immediately said, "it should never have left our factory like that. We will send you a new one immediately". They sent not one but two brand new complete recoil rod assemblies. Gun has been flawless ever since.

I had a great experience with their CS. 1, maybe 2 rounds from about every 3rd magazine would get lodged lengthwise in the ejection port against the barrel hood. One call to them got an RA number, new ejector and spring, and return postage on the house. I had mentioned that I was thinking about getting night sights when I called them and they surprised me with a set. All within 1 week.

The brit guy at kahr is good

In the past, when I owned kahrs, they werent great, but I think they improved
