What do you guys think of the Kahr CW 9 pistol? I have never heard nothing bad about them, just what I have read in the gun rags. Gonna get me one this week.

u

will absolutley love it. A super top quality made semi auto that will indeed go bang every time. READ THE MANUAL , use the slide lock lever to load that first round always, or until it is well broken in and u are good enough to rack the slide properly.

to many people try to rack the slide from the git go and kahrs are damn tight and then they complain about FTF and if they read the manual kahr states to USE THE SLIDE LOCK LEVER TO LOAD that first round.

Keep the rails greased and a quick break in tip. after you get the gun clean it, and grease the rails and around the barrle and barrel lug, and then just sit there and rack the slide as fast as you can about 500 times. this really helps break in without the bang thing and saves alot of money.

After that, take it out and shoot itlike u stole it.

Kahrs have a very loooooong but totally smooth trigger 3/8" travel, so it takes some getting used to. My bet if ur right handed your shots for awhile wil lbe low and left. Practice under 10 yards...

good luck great gun, really is.

The CW line is a current best buy. I've really enjoyed mine. I have had some light strikes using Rem. UMC ammo however. Accurate and easy to shoot well, the CW is a almost perfect CCW.

It is

IMO it is kahrs best buy, they are advertised on ar15 for sale in the handguns section all the time for $400 NIB. that is a heh of a buy IMO.

I've had my CW9 for about two years now. As soon as you get it break it down and clean it. Lube the rails liberally and rack the slide until you get hand cramps (lol). Do it a lot though. Take it to the range and put about a couple hundred rounds through it and you will be good to go. I would challenge anyone to find a more comfortable and easy to carry weapon than the CW9. I use a Galco inside the waste band holster with mine. Perfect. You'll forget it's even there. You'll not regret purchasing a Kahr.

great little guns that are far more accurate than they have any right to be and come at a very good price for the gun you are getting..

dougsboy

u won't get a challenge from this kahr owner. I think they are one of the best ccw guns on the market and ur instructions are dead on to.

Rack um alot and then just shoot it like u stole it..

CW9

I've had mine a couple years and carried it for most of that time in a IWB Don Hume holster. It just about disappears on the body. Very light and slim. I've taken to carrying full size guns lately but have on the odd occasion carried the Kahr as a BUG. With the size of the CW9 can't understand why anyone would want to carry a 380.

debatable

some say yes, most say no. If u looking for a pocket carry 9mm then indeed buy the PM9. I carry mine 24/7 in my front pocket with ease. Best gun I ever owned to.

Some have chopped down their cw9 to about the PM9 but that is expensive as u have to re buy magazines etc and unless u can do the chop work, then that is another expense.

the cw9 is IMO just a tad to big for pocket carry. go to the karh site and look up the demensions of the cw vs the pM9.

The PM9 IMo is right on the line of being to big for pocket carry, so anything even a half inch bigger might just prove out to be to big. the cw 9 has a half inch longer barrel and slide, doesn't sound like much but it is in this case.

I like mine and am very comfortable shooting lead reloads in it. It has a traditional rifled barrel unlike the P or K9 which have polygonal barrels and may be problematic with lead buildup in the barrel from reloads.

The ranges at which I envision "needing" mine probably preclude the need for night sights. The CW versions have staked in front sights instead of a cut dovetail, making front sight replacement a little more costly.

Excellent and reliable gun for everyday carry.

Mine broke within the first 25 rounds. Kahr fixed it, although they were a bit slower than I'd have liked.

Its been close to perfect since its return. I've been averaging about 50 rounds a week through it during the 3+ years since it was repaired. I've only fully taken in down for cleaning three or four times, last time was to replace the recoil spring because of some failures to return fully to battery and clean crud out of the striker channel that was causing light strikes. Seems to have been the cures.

Great buy IMHO, I carry a PM40 but got the CW9 for cheap practice -- figure I've more than paid for it with savings from the price difference between 9mm and .40S&W practice ammo.

--wally.

Cant Speak to the quality of the CW9, but i do have the CW40, if it's anything like that, Id say buy it ! Ive been carying my CW40 almost daily for months, and it's almost invisable . it's one heck of a shooter too for a smaller gun . overall . Id say it's a hard to beat deal (415.00 ish NIB)

The CW9 is my wife's carry gun. She loves it. She owns quite a few handguns and of all the ones she has, she prefers to carry the Kahr. She likes the light weight, smaller grips, and sleek lines. She can shoot like pro with it too.

A couple of months ago, we were shooting at our favorite outdoor range I was teaching her to use a "shoot and move" tactic. On her silhouette target I wrote "Give me your purse, biotch!" She paced off about 10 feet and turned and with a quick shot, nailed the SOB (target silhouette) right between the eyes, and said "I don't think so!" We've enjoyed many good laughs about that since.

I've had mine for about a year, and have traded many guns during that time.
The Kahr will NEVER be one of them!
I barely know I'm wearing it! And I swear If I closed my eyes I'd probably hit what I'd need to aim at...........:D

Anyone make a replacement front sight? Reminds me a a Glock front sight setup, but with 2 steaks.

sure thing

thats why there is so far no replacement front sites. those two holes really screw things up. I have heard of people trying to put the glock front site on the kahrs but was also told that when doing so, one of those front holes was still visible.

I would have thought by now some after market site company wouldhave comeout with a front site for the cw series... not yet...

as some one stated, if this is not a priority the cw is perfect. I have nite sites on my PM9 and to be darn honest about it, I just wanted them because...... Not sure they serve any real practical value for me anyhow, maybe a LEO who carrys allthe time and works nites etc, I also have slept at a Holiday Inn lately to!!!
