It's a bit late to second-guess yourself at this point, gator. It's also a good reason why it's always best to take a couple or more guns that you are interested in buying to the range before you make your purchase and give them a good test-drive.
That having been said, you did just fine with the PPS. Walther quality is well worth the extra money you paid, IMO. I've got a PPS in 9mm and another in .40S&W and might just grab another. You can never be too rich, nor too thin, nor have too many Walthes.
