Okay...so I went to get a Kel Tec and wound up with a Kahr P9. Don't ask why okay.:D

Anyhow...I take it to the range and a guy at the range tells me that after about 3000 rounds the polymer kahrs magazines will start sticking in the well because the frame begins to warp. Does anyone know if this is true or rumor? Has anyone else heard this?

The P9 is to be my backup weapon, but if this rumor is true I'm getting rid of it right now. I'll put 3000 rounds through it just getting ready to qual. Not at one time of course.

Anyone who owns a Kahr please let me know. I am a little worried now. How is the quality?

Should I get the Kel Tec instead?

BTW...the Kahr is nicely accurate...once you figure out how to shoot it. Mine you have to have the front dot at the 6 o'clock position of a bulls eye. My Sigs the dot has to be "ON" the bulls eye. Took me a second to learn this.

Unfortunately, there's ALWAYS some guy at the range or some guy at the gun shop spreading fertilizer.

Polymer frames don't just up and warp, especially not at a specific round count.

Shoot your Kahr and enjoy it, don't listen to some clown that likely never owned one.

The quality of your Kahr is much better than any Kel-Tec, and it isn't suddenly going to warp, unless you leave it in the oven.

I've got at least that many rounds through my P9 Covert and I could not be happier with the pistol. Very accurate, easy to shoot, and a smooth, long DAO trigger.

I appreciate it guys....the idea of a new pistol warping......well....warps my under wear:D

Besides, I got a great deal. I don't think the Kahr is worth anywhere near their published list price, but then, neither is Glock.:p

Had a P11 for years, still have several Kel-Tecs, and recently got my first Kahr, a P9.

I think KT's are some of the best values in American made firearms. That said, Kahr has always had a better reputation for quality.

It was probably the same guy that said that you could sneak a Glock thru airport security.

As much research and developement that the maker of Kahr puts into his guns, this fellow is just full of Bullsnit.

You made the right decision when you bought the Kahr. I've owned and shot Kahrs for years and never heard of one cracking a polymer frame. The world is full of psuedo experts who just like to hear themseves talk but know nothing. Enjoy your Kahr, it's a great gun. If something should happen to go wrong with it, which I doubt, Kahr will fix it.
What was the guy at the range shooting? Probably an Accu-Tec or Lorcin which definitely makes him an expert---yeah right.

I have about 900 rounds, about 600 of which are +P or +P+, through my second hand plastic P9 Covert and nothing sticks out and nothing has fallen off. :D

Have over 18,000 rounds through my alloy Taurus PT99 with maybe $80 in replacement parts which were a precaution, not due to a failure or breakage.

I believe that with reasonable use - not talking 10,000 rounds a weekend - any plastic or alloy gun will last a lifetime. Don't know if my great, great grandkids will be enjoying my Kahr or my Glock, but in all honesty, I didnt' buy these two for them. ;)
