My PM9 is reliable as a RANGE gun, but not as a concealed carry piece. Mine likes to "rim-lock" hollow point cartridges when the gun gets jostled around while being carried. The good news is that most people who buy this gun use it as a range gun. I have not read one instance where the PM9 was attempted to be fired in a self-defense situation.

Nice pistols

It seems reliable and accurate so far 350+ rounds no malfunctions.

Overall it is a nice pistol.

Go to the gunstore and compare it to other sub compacts.

In my opinion it handles better than most of its counterparts.

Tom Givens, of Rangemaster in Memphis, TN, really likes the PM9, and he is NOT bashful about commenting negatively on things that are not reliable. I heard his words myself at the Snubby Summit in December 2005, held in Titusville, FL, where he taught a class that gave a dissenting opinion rearding snubbies for CCW and back-up. I don't want to get more detailed than that, as I don't want to use my imperfect memory to put words in someone's mouth. My wife and I have had good experience with our Kahr K9 pistols, though I carried mine only briefly, and traded it off after finding I could not shoot it both fast and well, as it handled so much differently than my other carry and duty guns at the time, 1911 pistols. Now that I use a SIG P229 DAK with a short trigger for duty, I have thought about revisiting the Kahr for personal CCW.

I could not disagree more. THe PM9 is NOT a range gun (who would choose a PM9 for a range gun???). It is designed strictly as a very small, very light, highly concealable, close-quarters defense gun, period. And as such, they work wonderfully.

DHart, I was going to reply along the same lines. That gun was meant for carry and I wouldn't consider it a very fun range gun.

I might add that I almost always can carry and easily conceal my Glock 23 or Glock 30, so my PM9 is rarely used. But on those rare occasions when I want something really small, really light, with a decent punch, my PM9 is my go-to gun.
