I traded my Glock 43 in very good condition and $75 for the Kahr, which was barely fired at all.

I took the Kahr to the range today, finally. It's slightly smaller than the G43, but it fits my hands better. I like Kahr triggers. As everyone says, it's kind of like a smooth longish DA revolver trigger. If you try to pull slowly, it's challenging. If you do one smooth continuous stroke like a DA revolver, it's very nice.

I like the sights, even the weird vertical line on the rear one. The mag release and slide release are good. I forgot the extended mag at home. The six-round one loaded easily. The slide serrations are very good and the texture on the grips is rough enough, but not too rough. The slide is easy to rack. There's plenty of room between the mag release and slide release for my giant thumb.

I shot it well, better than I expected. The first few rounds were a little scattered because my hand thought it was about to get beat up by another small 9mm pistol. It didn't get beat up. We settled down quickly. I shot a mix of WWB and Blazer brass 115 grain range ammo, maybe 50 rounds total. Zero malfunctions. I shot standing from seven yards. My typical group of five was three almost touching and then two "fliers" and inch or two out.

Next time I'll scrounge all of the worst 9mm ammo out of my "leftovers" bag. It it can go 50-75 rounds of that garbage NP, I'll consider it to be a viable carry option. I'm a revolver guy, but there are pockets that this thing will fit into better than a j-frame. It turns out that I had a DeSantis Nemesis for one of my 40 caliber Kahrs that fits it just fine.

I bought a pinky extension for the six-round Kahr magazine and shot with it today. I had them on my G43 mags, and I still have them on my Ruger "LC9s pro" mags. So far I haven't been able to control such small 9mm pistols well enough to get acceptable accuracy with flush mags, but can shoot them well enough with a pinky extension. I ordered another flush six-round Kahr mag just now ($33 used, ouch) and will try that out next time. Great if I can, NBD if I can't. :)

Now I have the Kahr and the Ruger as my small 9mm carry options. I've also owned the G43, and a few others that were just dreadful. My order of preference for the single-stack 9mm pocket pistols I've owned:

1) Kahr PM9
2) Ruger LC9s pro
3) Glock 43
10) Ruger LC9 original
25) Taurus 709 "slim"
99) Kel-Tec PF9 (or maybe P11?)

PM9 > j-frame (I'm not shooting through coat pockets in FL)
I have a PM9 and it is carried as a 2nd gun (AKA "back-up") to a Glock that is AIWB.

I prefer to carry a j-frame, but if I have to "settle" for the PM9 sometimes, that'll be fine. :)

I have had a PM9 for over 15 years. Still a favorite carry gun when size/concealment matters, such as summertime. I had a "fluff and buff" package done on it by Cylinder & Slide when I first purchased it and it has been 100% reliable

I took my CM9 with me to the club today.

I did something I do sometimes, for fun not serious shooting. Shooting the plate rack. Shoot one, if I hit, back up one step, and shoot the next plate. Repeat. Shooting is one handed. I was back 15 yards before I missed one. Back to 18 before I was missing more than hitting. 124 grain GECO FMJ, basic blasting ammo, the cheap stuff at the gun store.

I could carry this. It's comparable in capacity and power to the Taurus 856 I usually carry, but much smaller.

I prefer my snubs, too, but I can see this one working its way into my "rotation". It's just enough smaller than the G43 to make back-pocket carry possible for me.

I have carried my PM9 more often then not for 15 years. Good reliable accurate concealable. Appendix and Smart Carry most of the time. Never had an issue.

No worries about the magazine release being pressed sufficiently to release magazine?

I only back pocket carry with a holster and if I know for sure I won't be sitting down. I have yet to release a magazine that way. Been doing it for years.

For me the extended magazines are overkill. They're huge. So far I'm preferring the pinky extension.

The overly long extended mags are great for a reload or if your buddy challenges your Kahr shooting skills. :)

I've carried a PM9 since they came out. I do carry an extended mag iswb left side. I found this company which has slide spring modifications for quite a few pistols.

Their system adds a round capacity in both the 9mm Kahrs and the 380s. I was a little worried as I am not generally too fond of aftermarket add-ons, but these work. I tried on a P380 and then the PM9. They work fine. In fact, the Magguts made last-round lock-back very dependable. About $28 to refit a mags.

The 9mm ones are rare as hen’s teeth, or my googlefu has gotten really bad.

I have both a CM9 and a PM9, in my mind they are basically equal, even though I know there is more farkle in the PM9. The night sights are dead on the PM9... so that's a moot point. The pinky extension certainly does help with control while shooting, but I have issues with mine coming loose and sliding forward, so they are not my favorite... I carry mine with the flush magazine.

For me, the larger CW9 makes more sense for me... I don't pocket carry, so size is not an absolute issue. On those days where absolute concealment is needed, I put the CM9 in the High Noon instead of the CW9. For my CCW system, it's nice having all of my holsters, magazines, and ammos play nice with each other.... sort of a 'modular carry system.'

It's interesting... I never have a problem with accidentally hitting the mag release on the 9mm Kahrs, but when I had a P45, and then a CW45, I was always hitting the mag release. Some sort of weird hand-to-pistol geometry for me, I guess.

Both my CM9 and my PM9 are 100% reliable. I did mess up the PM9 last time I tore it down... I must have bent the tiny wire that retains the slide stop pin, because it now walks when I'm shooting, tying up the slide. I just need to replace it, and I'll be on my way.
