"Bob's 1st. Annual Bullets & Brats"...It was a blast(s)!!

We got a heavy dose of unreal weather (for a change...mid-70's all day w/NO rain!)

I think we all got sunburned a bit just because most did not realize it was happening with the thin overcast and cool temps.

Some THR members who managed to make it out to shoot:
KCMO, Kamicosmos, Bigmac, S_O_Laban and Chairman.
A couple other buddies of mine also came out...Larry and son Alex and Craig.

Karli was the best as she did a terrific job of getting lunch ready and somehow, I managed to keep the brats n'dogs from burning. She made a killer pecan desert that was unexpected and appreciated. She also cleaned up the lunch mess so we “boys†could get back to the range!! Only in America!

We got the range open around 9:30am and the last cars pulled out about 7pm...we expended a BUNCH of ammo!

We hope to have photos posted here soon. I think KCMO and Kamicosmos are working on that.

Thanks to everyone for helping with the clean-up and for working so hard to be safe and thoughtful. It was a great day at the range.

I intend on hosting another "Bullets & Brats" this fall/late summer. The name may say "Annual", but we really can't limit this kind of fun to once-a-year!! I hope next time we can get even more members out to shoot!!

Oh, and guys, don’t forget to send me a snail-mail address so I can mail off the 35mm photos I took.

Bob

I had a great time as well! I enjoyed meeting everyone. The only downside seems to have been the surprise sunburn!

Here are some pics, taken by KCMO:

sorry for the quick and dirty webpage, just got the system moved to my...'Disaster Recovery Site' (ie Black_Snowman's house)

After looking at the pictures I am really wishing I would have been there.

How about a rundown of the weaponry? Looked like some serious fun.

I like this pic. Looks like a scary bunch. :D

Sounds like ya'll had a blast. I didn't find this 'til today, but I was at Rockfest anyway on Sat. If you would, shoot me a email for the next one.

Thanks,

Rundown of the weaponry?
You name it, we had it. :D

Everything from a 2 shot 22. Mag derringer to a 40 round AK.
We had 1911’s ranging from a Chilean military surplus gun to Kimbers, to a modified and compensated Springfield Armory.
We had TWO Desert Eagles, one in .357 mag and one in .44 mag. (The guy with the .50 AE couldn’t make it Saturday.)
We had CZ’s and an EAA. in 45 acp, and a couple more CZ’s in 9 and 40. We had Glocks, we had Sigs, We had Smith and Wesson’s, Rugers, Brownings, and even a North American Arms Mini revolver.

Rifles were well represented also, there were a couple AK’s, a really nice AR Varmint rig, several 10/22s from stock to customized. A CZ452, an Anshultz 22, and several older surplus firearms. Oh yeah, we even had a black powder rifle to try!

We had iron sights, scopes, red dot sights and even a Bushnell Holosight.

In truth, I’ve been to sporting goods stores with less of a selection! :D

Glad to hear everyone had a good time. I was a little bummed that I didn't make it but I did have a good time at the air show at Whiteman. :) Nice selection of iron although it gives me a good idea on what to bring next time you have one of these. I see that there are a few holes that could be filled. :D

Sigh....well at least it looks like my co-worker was having fun.(will have to talk to him about his shirt tho):) Hope I can make the next one cause it sure looks like a good time was had by all.

I want to be inlcluded the next time as well :)

Though I did have fun at the Gun Show in Overland Park on the 19th :D
