Kansas Legislature overrides Gov's pro-gun law veto

Signs & Wonders, boys and girls.

Many that I know are cowering and railing against the news as they are not opening themselves up to all the good news since January 6.

Here we have a Legislature not only passing a populist bill, not only a pro-gun bill but grabbing it back from a spineless Governor and schooling him on how the system is supposed to work.

Signs & Wonders all around us in every news cycle. Just gotta look for them as the MSM does not want you to know unless it suits - or is reformed to suit - their preordained narrative.

Todd.

The Governess here is a woman. Again...
The last one, Kathleen Sebilious, vetoed Concealed Carry but her veto got overridden as well.

Umm. We have constitutional carry already. We've had it since 2015.
I guess the article may be in error, then?
The new gun law does three important things. First, it reduces the minimum concealed carry age from 21 to 18. In order to carry a concealed firearm, 18-20 year-olds would have to pass concealed-carry training and carry a permit. Second, it recognizes the validity of other states’ concealed carry permits. And third, the law allows people who have committed lesser crimes and have had those crimes expunged by a judge to regain their right to keep and bear arms after a time.
As I recall, here in AZ, non-residents are not required to have concealed carry permits in order to carry concealed. The legislation that gave us Constitutional Carry removed all laws requiring permits in AZ. This may also be true in, KS before this legislation passed, and if so, why the need to recognize the other states' CCP? Just curious.

The article says nothing about establishing Constitutional Carry in Kansas. We've had it here in Kansas since 2015, and the article doesn't say otherwise.

Note the article says: In addition to the newly-minted law, Kansas also has a constitutional carry statute (allowing concealed carry without a permit for those over the age of 21). (bolding is mine)

Kansans have the right to carry, both concealed carry and open carry in the state of Kansas, no permit required. For us to carry in other states, we need to have a CCL, if that state requires it and they recognize the Kansas CCL. But, for example I can carry in Oklahoma and Missouri without a CCL, as both those states have a Constitutional Carry law in place, and there are many other states that have such a law.

I don't know about guests in Kansas, but I've always thought Constitutional Carry applied to all. But I don't know, and I'm not a lawyer.

I don't know why this article says that the legislation recognizes other states' carry permits. Perhaps there was some legal wording that was off somehow? But Kansas has recognized other states' CCL permits for years.
