The PMR-30 is a light weight, full size pistol chambered for the flat-shooting .22Magnum cartridge (.22WMR). The PMR-30 operates on a unique hybrid
blowback/locked-breech system. This operation system allows for the use of a wide variety of ammunition as it seamlessly adjusts between locked breach and blowback
operation, depending on the pressure of the cartridge. It uses a double stack magazine of a new design that holds 30 rounds and fits completely in the grip of the pistol.
The trigger is a crisp single action with an over-travel stop. The manual safety is a thumb activated ambidextrous safety lever (up for SAFE, down for FIRE). The slide locks back after the last shot and a manual slide lock lever is also provided. The light, crisp trigger pull and fiber optic sights make the PMR-30 ideal for target shooting and hunting small game.

Slide and barrel are 4140 steel, frame is 7075 aluminum. Grip, slide cover, trigger, mag release, and safety levers are glass reinforced Nylon (Zytel), much like other Kel-Tec Pistols. Magazine is Also Zytel and holds 30 rounds, with round count ports. Other features include: dual opposing extractors for reliability, heel magazine release to aid in magazine retention, dovetailed aluminum front sight, Picatinny accessory rail under the barrel, Urethane recoil buffer, captive coaxial recoil springs. The barrel is
fluted for light weight and effective heat dissipation. PMR30 disassembles for cleaning by removal of a single pin.

Wondering how much depth (fore and aft) and girth to the grip... what w/ .22 mags being kinda longish.

30 rds is enough to... load on Sunday, shoot till Tuesday... or something.

Kel-Tec is a very progressive company and the best part is...100% American..YES!

George Kellgren just won't give up. What a guy. The KelTec version looks better than the Grendel P30 I think. Maybe it will do better for him.

yeah, but I don't think we will see it for another 3 or 4 years. Just like the bull pup rifle they came out with over a year ago and it still has not gone out to the public in large numbers.

Il buy one, and worry about what I bought it for later. Cool as hell if it works reliably Im in. You see how light the thing is. Oh sure 22WMR doesnt have enough stopping power, but maybe after 30 hits it will cause a nasty infection :)

I'd pay at least $100 more if it didn't have all of those hex screws sticking out all over the gun. Very cool idea, Five-Seven for the poor man. Cool, but horribly ugly.

Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Personally I like the very modern industrial look with hex screws. MOAR PLEASE!

What I find most interesting is the hybrid blow-back/lock-breach system. I suspect a rehash of the HK P7 gas-blowback delayed system, by the sounds.

If they offered one in a center-fire caliber, I'd probably snap one up quick.

If this thing is reliable, it would make one heck of a handy defensive weapon. How long could you keep fighting with one of these, 3 mags, and a little cover?

Why all the hex screws? IMO, that makes it non-purchaseable. I've never seen a gun with that many screws.
Then you have never seen these guns before :

There are revolvers in 22 mag now, don't see any big problems with them. Maybe some ammo maker will come out with a cartridge with faster burning powders to work better in the short barrel.

I agree. A gun is a tool first and foremost. If utility matches up with beauty that great, but utility and simple function in a firearm is in itself beautiful. These dudes crying about how ugly the gun is probably think the ultimate firearms are a gold plated Deagle and a gaudy 12lb AR-15 with every imaginable accessory on it's rails.

Did anyone else think of the Five-Seven when they saw the picture and magazine capacity?

Neat little range toy, if nothing else. I know people using .22s have been known to kill, but personally I'm leary about using one as a defensive weapon.

I am constantly hearing people say that a 22 wont kill you or even hurt you. But I'll be danged if I have seen anyone standing in line so that they can be shot with one. While in the academy I watched a video of a suspect who pulled a 9 shot 22 revolver on a trooper and they fought over the gun. After being shot several times in the vest, the trooper retreated and hit the bad guy five out of six times with a 357. While the trooper was calling for help the wounded suspect fired one fatal shot at the trooper, just missing his vest and hitting him in the heart. The trooper was dead 13 seconds later, the badguy lived to stand trial. And whats more confusing is that this is a 22 mag. I just hope it doesnt do like the rest of the 22 mag automatic prototypes and get recalled.

This could be a very interesting little pistol. If its reliable and does not mess up after every other shot I would own one.

Off topic...

.22 is a deadly caliber. many people lost their lives to one and below is one of the more famous examples...

"In a crowded kitchen passageway, Sirhan Sirhan, a 24-year-old Christian Palestinian-American, opened fire with a .22-caliber revolver and shot Kennedy. Following the shooting, Kennedy was rushed to Los Angeles's Good Samaritan Hospital where he died early the next morning"

shootistpd27 typed - I just hope it doesnt do like the rest ..... prototypes and get recalled.

Just need to reemphasize this firearm will be made by Kel-Tec, not Ruger. So chances of a recall are greatly diminished.
