The capacity and ease of carrying a reload were important to me when i lived in drug importation city, Corpus Christi, Texas. But, I'm out in the country now and my county seat is a town of 2500 people. When I go to town, I'll put my Don Hume JIT Slide on and stuff my Taurus 605 Poly in it and back it up with my EDC Taurus 85 stainless UL. That little revolver can take the sweat! It's a sweet shooter, too.
I don't feel ill armed with a .357 magnum backed up by a .38. I mean, 10 shots there and 5 of 'em are making 550 ft lbs.
The KT does seem more logical as a EDC, I'll admit. When I lived in a small town of 12K, I'd go back and fourth in revolver moods, then think of what a perfect carry the KT was and switch back a few days later. They were both DA guns, so no problem for me with practice and training. I'm just a revolver nut.
I don't have a problem with the P11s trigger as is, either. Many do, but I'm well practiced with it. I got attacked by a chow dog in my front yard once when I lived in a town of 12K. To get the dog off my cats, I ran out and started kicking him. He turned on me, so I drew the P11 and put him down. I was all adrenalized and that 10 lb trigger felt like my buddy's S&W M52 Bullseye gun's single action that measures in ounces. I actually think the longer/heavier trigger is an advantage. It won't go off until you WANT it to go off.
This trigger sounds nice, though, for those who aren't as accomplished at DA shooting or that just whine about everything.
I've been shooting revolvers for 45 years, so I'm sorta used to DAs, some are better than others. But, the P11's is smooth, very smooth, and that is what I require for good shooting. There are some guns I just can't shoot, I'll admit. Thinking here of another buddy's collection of Nagant revolvers. You want a trigger from hell, try one of those.
Before I put a Wolff spring kit in it, my P64 Radom was unshootable by me in DA. It's controllable with the spring kit in it. But, I don't have a problem with the P11 as is.
