Kel Tec p11 vs....???

guys what are some comparable guns to Kel Tec's p11. 10 (or more) capacity 9mm of similar size (sub compact) priced in the $300 ballpark?

I have Kel Tec's PF9 and P3AT and love both of them. I am thinking of getting a .22lr conversion kit for the PF9 and it is runs smoothly keeping the PF9 more of a dedicated PF22.....anyway I would then want to replace my PF9 with another similar (but different) 9mm....

Right now I am thinking of the p11 but wanted to see if y'all had some more suggestions.

I believe the P11 is the thinnest double stack 9mm. The Glock 26 is a little thicker.

What ever it is it will have away better trigger than the p-11. I liked the pf-9 enough to carry one of 2 1/2 years but the p-11 lasted just 3 weeks. Get the glock if you have to have more rounds or buy some extra mags for the pf-9.

I paid $250 for my P-11, and I love it. It does have one long-a$$ed trigger-pull. My EDC is a 442- and you get used to long trigger pulls. Worthy purchase!

Yeah, if you're like me and can get used to the trigger, it can be a great gun. Most recently mine resided in a secure place near the front door.

taurus pt145 maybe? any taurus will have a MUCH better trigger than any kel-tec

I am not a big KelTec fan at all. However the .32/ .380 and the P-11 are good guns. I have a few P-11's with 12 round mags and they are reliable/dependable and shoot good. Lil grease in the right spots , Wolff Springs and a trigger shoe and it is a good gun. I do not know of any other manufacturer that is going to meet KelTecs price point on the P-11 frankly.

I don't think there is another double-stack pocket Nine for $300 on the market.
I'm on my 3rd P11, and I don't know of anything comparable. I have the 12-rnd and also a 15-round mag for it.
I do hate the staple-gun trigger, but you get used to it. The factory trigger shoe helps a LOT.

My P-11 has 2000+ rounds through it with zero malfunctions. This is with cheap PMC FMJ and Hornady Critical Defense... all 115gr. I use both the factory 10 round and Mec-Gar 15 round mags... never any issues with any of them.

I've owned two PF-9's and one PF-11. I disliked the trigger and handling of the PF-11. Personally I felt it inferior to the PF-9's in just about every category . The only thing better about the PF-11 was the capacity. I'd suggest you find a way to try one before purchasing one.

not a double stack but worth looking at would be the Taurus PT709.

I've owned or tried most of the pistols mentioned on this thread w/ mostly negative results. I can't say enough good things about my little PT740 Slim - 40 cal version of the 709.

I'm a little bit of a gun snob and never owned a Taurus before but I highly recommend the Slims.

If you can find one, a Star Firestar Plus. Kind of heavy, All steel alloy, single action, either 10 or 13 rds, +1 of course.
I have a P-11 though that is my regular carry piece. 12+1 rds. You get used to the trigger after a while.

P-11/ its all about the trigger.
If you only shoot DAO pistols you could live with it.

Guess I've been under a rock. I didn't know KT made a .22 conversion. At KelTec prices, why not have a dedicated PF-9 AND a PF-22?
Somebody mentioned the Taurus PT145. There is a double-stack 9mm version of that gun, too, that might meet your price point (PT111?).

I had one, but sold it. My problem wasn't the way one shoots, it was accurate though the trigger can be irritating, but I put a shoe on it and it felt better. My problem was breaking it down to clean my mind is young, but my hands are old and not strong, so once was enough. Sold it and bought a Baby Eagle

The Taurus PT111 is bigger, heavier, but a small bit. The Glock is porky and I don't like the Glock trigger for pocket carry. As pocket PDFs go, I LOVE the P11 AND it's trigger. The trigger is the best available in a pocket gun IMHO, ultimately safe, and smooth and easy to place my shots with. I can put a magazine into 3.5" from a rest at 25 yards any time. It is 15 years old, now, still doing that, still reliable, and the trigger is smoother than ever after 11,000 plus shots down range. I've never even put a recoil spring in it.

I, too, am a long time DA revolver shooter. That probably makes a difference DA ability. But, one should master DA if one wishes a safe DA carry with no external safeties. I also carry pocket revolvers a lot in my carry rotation, so I practice a LOT with a DA trigger.

Disassmbly of the P11 is quite simple. I don't see where that's a problem unless you lack the grip strength.

Yep, it's the grip..too much working with the hands. @ 70++ it's shown up. The Sigs, the PX4, the Baby Eagle make it simple. My wife carries a Sig P290 and it's border line, but easier to hold the mark and pull the pin than the P11 was.
