Does anyone have any experience with the Kel-Tec PLR-16 pistols? I am seriously considering one and would greatly appreciate any input that you might have as far as reliability, accuracy, so forth.

Mine has been great out of the box. The PLR-16 is a fun shooter. There is a lot of good info posted on the link listed above.

Thank you for the info. I checked out the links and the owner forums and I might be sold! What type of shot groups at what ranges have you gotten with yours?

I am not looking for 300yd accuracy as it is a pistol. I would like to be able to hit a target at 100 yards though. Given the round, it seems like a good possibility.

I am sure M2 will be commenting soon. I believe he has 2 PLRs and he loves those things. Neat looking pistol, but I hear they are loud as h*^&.

Right after I got mine I wanted to see what it would do at 100 yards, so I mounted a Harris bipod and tried out the ammo I had on hand.
Like many guns it likes some loads better than others.
I haven't had the time to work on a good load for the gun yet.

Here's a few examples of what the PLR can do with different ammo.

PLR-16 Outstanding!

I have been looking at the Plr-16 for quite some time now. I was lucky enough to stop at the gun store for some ammo one day and saw it hanging on the wall. The guy said it wasn’t even there for 3 days. I took it right then and there!

Took my new Plr-16 to the range last week. Just one word. OUTSTANDING! Right out of the box it was great. I did not do any upgrades to the sight, nor have I put a bi-pod on it. It is exactly as it came from the store, iron sight and all. The only adjustment I had to make was to the rear sight to get the windage on. And that only took me 3 adjustments to get it right on at 25 meter. From there I took it to the long range. I am not a comp shooter, nor am I terribly concerned with getting the smallest group I can possibly get, and this is the only pistol I own so I am no expert at pistol shooting. I don’t bench shoot. My intention with this pistol is for hunting, and shooting fun. I can tell you, the range I was at has metal targets at 100, 150 and 200meter. And they are only about 1/2 meter square. I can hold her out and hold her there and shoot very comfortably. And I can hit that target almost every time. And there was no need for me to change my sight picture, she shoots very fast and very flat with that grain load. And I did take some rapid-fire shots at the 200 m target, and boy I can tell you it is right on, and a total pleasure to shoot. I went with three other guys, and they couldn’t keep their hand off her. LUCKY ME!!! If you have an interest in one, and you can get your hands on one, DO IT! You won’t be sorry. Just be sure you have hearing protection. She is VERY loud, but more than the sound, your going to love the shock wave it puts out! When I touched off the first round, everyone around started to laugh and shout. It will take the breath right out of your mouth if you have it hanging open. TOTAL PLEASURE! I'd happily trade my wife for another one.
