anybody used or know much about these. The finish is not all that great but I don't give a crap. I'm, more concerned about how well it actually shoots and doesn't blow up in my hands. Hey it's a $500 dollar gun? Cool gun....and can use all that 223 I have but and advice or past experience???

The SU-16C has a true folding stock and can be fired in the folded condition.

I have no personal experience with that gun. You can check outthe Kel-tec owners group, for information, or ask questions. Near in mine that most are very pro Kel-tec. Me, I'm less than thrilled with my Kel-tec P11 9mm that I bought last year. Here's the link:

I own a P32. My P32 has worked like a charm. It is accurate up close but I would not use it at a distance with any certainty.(Maybe a better shooter can).
I have put over 1000 rounds through her and she still works well. Fairly easy to break down and clean. I am told that their customer service is very good although I have never had occasion to use it myself!

WHOA.
Sorry, just gotta share the fact that I thought you were talking about one of their pistols and nearly fell out of my chair when I read the $500 part.

One of the plank-owning moderators here has one and he endorses it completely.

I have several KelTecs, including the folding 9mm carbine, and they have all operated flawlessly.

The gunsmiths where I go have said that it's a great gun and very well designed.

I guess you can't get much better than those recommendations.:D

I've got a Kel-Tec P11 that I keep in my truck and will be switching it back to carry duty now that the weather is warming up. It's never failed for me. I feel confident carrying it.

I've had a 16A model for 18 months or so and never had a problem with it. Last weekend we ran through about 240 rounds in 1 1/2 hours with two newbies learning to shoot and they both loved it also. Mine has a 1.5-4.5 scope on it and that makes it easy to 1 1/2" groups with it. If I was going to get a new one where the iron sights might be used I'd probably get a 16CA model, I like the C model sights but with the A model stock.

My .380 is great! Not a single failure, even with XTP hollow points.

A couple of years ago I met a couple in Melbourne who work for Kel-Tec. He worked in manufacturing and she was a gunsmith. She said that the vast majority of pistols they get back are fine, but that they are extremely susceptible to limp wristing. I agree that the basic design and build quality look far better than the bargain-basement prices would lead you to expect (like Bersa). The worse thing I've heard about Kel-Tec came from an old dude who works behind the gun counter at Sportsman's Warehouse. He's a nice guy, but in the three years I've been shopping there, he has a track record of being wrong 100 percent of the time. If he says Kel-Tecs are junk, they are almost certainly good guns.

Anyway, I plan to buy a couple before years end.

A lot of people are waiting to get their hands on the new super-slim Kel Tec 9mm.

I have owned 3. A P-11 which I still own, and a P-32 which I traded in on a P-3AT. My 3AT has been very reliable. It won't eat Russian steel-cased .380acp (Silver or Brown Bear) but its fine with any brass-cased ammo. Its been my BUG for a couple years now, I think.

Have not owned a KT rifle yet. But would strongly consider one.

Quite honestly the finest firearm ever made, bar-none!

No?

Allright, I have only a P32 and everything about it screams cheap, from the chintzy looking plastic and take-down to the way it rubs my fingers when shooting long sessions. But it works. It does everything it's supposed to do, flawlessly so far, I might add, and it's so tiny and flat it simply disappears in my pocket. Since that's what I bought it for, it's a great gun. I don't know about the model in question, but I wouldn't hesitate to look at KelTec for anything I thought interesting.

I ahve bought 3 handguns NIB sice November. A SA LW Champion GI series, A Colt LW commander and a Kel-Tec P3AT. I have
had issues with two of them and had to retun or spend money to get 2 of them up to reliability standards. Guess which one I had NO trouble with? YUP, KelTec. I didn't even clean the gun, few drops of oil and off to the range. 2 or 3 times the slide did not completely travel forward and lock. Brought it home and cleaned it really well and the next time out fed every variety of HP and Ball and slide went forward and locked

I don't think that I will ever use it as a range gun and run 20,000 + rounds thru it, but have run 250-300 through it with no problems now. I keep it cleaned and oiled and carry it in an inpocket holster everywhere I go. I almost forget I have it. Naw it ain't the gun that my 3 1911 45s are, but ammunition is more effective now for 380 and it is an inexspensive gun, if you can find one. Alot of LEOs carry them for back up, seems like a good reccommendation to me. You should be able to pick one up for $185 to $210 + tax. I like this Keltec handgun and have heard nothing but praise for the .32 cal. But 380 is same size and you get a bit more bang with the 380. I like my Kel Tec.

i have an su16ca and it's good. asides from the lightweight feel and
that its almost all plastic, it runs fine. only minor problem i had were
a few fte bc of the breakin period, but i would recommend it :)

actually , i think that price is a mite high. Here at gunshows in Houston, you should be able to pick those up for about, 450 with tax.

My PLR-16 arrived, after a month-plus wait, with a chip in the reciever above the ejection port.
It has been sent back to Kel-Tec. Hopefully they won't take too long fixing it.

Kel-tec

Picked up a sub 2000 in 40 cal. at a gun show this month and after 200 rds. to free it up and a Reddot scope installed,it is accurate and 50 rds through it yesterday with no problems at all. The story on some web sites is that some LEO's are getting these for their "trunk guns". The little booklet that comes with the gun states that up to 50 yards a round through a subs 16 in. barrel has the energy of a .357 magnum.

I've had a P-32 for several years. I did the usual fluff and buff on it when I purchased it, and have had no problems at all. With a belt clip, it can be carried wearing virtually anything.
