I got an email from KT about this on New Year's. The recent $100 rebate on Gen 2 Subs had some people speculating that KT was blowing them out to make room for a new model... that is indeed the case.
The big change is that this generation is optic ready. The barrel rotates over when you unfold it, so you can keep a scope or dot mounted on it. There are no iron sights. Difficulty mounting optics was one of the big complaints about the Subs, and it seems like they solved it in a pretty elegant way.
Other than that, KT made a few quality-of-life changes. The bolt handle is a little larger and easier to manipulate. I'm hoping they added a few ounces of weight to it to buffer the recoil, but that isn't stated. The bolt-hold is now ambidextrous... that's just adding an extra aluminum cut to the buffer tube. And they claims they lightened the trigger pull to 5 lbs.
MSRP is $500, plus sights of some kind.
