I'm looking for suggestions for an assault-style sling for the Kel-tec Sub2000 that followed me home from the Creek. Anybody got any favorites?

Thanks!

mrstang,
Kel-tec sells one for ten bucks that works pretty well. It can be used as an assault sling, and can also be used to sling a folded weapon under arm.

Thanks tommytrauma, that's good intel. Can you give me a hint as to how the sling attaches to the front of the weapon? Got any closer pics of the weapon itself? (Please feel free to include the model!!).

Thanks,

Michael

that isnt really that far from what a customer wanted me to build him...Kinda a "tactical" thigh rig for the S2K...

shouldnt be a problem to make, however I am running into a problem with getting a "pattern" to use...hopefully Kel-tec will show me some love and send me one..

The Kel-tec sling comes with a sling swivel and longer screw which replaces the receiver/grip screw that runs right under the rear sight. It takes about 2 minutes to install.

Since it rides on the receiver and butt stock, the sling is still completely usable with the weapon folded. (Ok, not the best pic, but...)

It's pretty tough nylon, but not parrot proof.

The sling and hardware costs ten bucks, so it's pretty painless to try. Hope this helps. Thanks for an excuse to play with the camara. :D

Thanks Tommy, that's exactly the info I was looking for. Unless somebody else comes up with a better option, looks like that's what I'm going for.

I don't suppose anybody has tried the spare mag holder, or dust cover they offer have they?

Michael

Spare mag holder

The spare mag holder works great with the standard length magqazines. It will not work with the long 29 or 30 round mags.

I have the sling and it also works very well.

Thanks, I'm just checking for ideas right now, probably won't use the mag holder, but the sling is looking pretty good.

I also have the Kel-Tec case which is nice and made for the sub. It has loops for two spare mags, so with a standard length mag in the rifle, a stardard length mag in the upper loop and an extended (30 round) mag in the lower loop, I can carry 60 rounds (50 if you don't have preban mags) of 40S&W in a very compact package under the seat of my truck.

You could carry even more if your sub is a 9mm and you have pre-ban standard capacity mags.

Have fun, it's a neat little gun to shoot.

No, I got the Glock version, since I had a G17. If I hadn't already had the Glock, I would have got the Smith version, since the standard cap mags are so much cheaper.

Wonder if a body could get the swivel and longer screw without the sling. Hmm, a call is in order tomorrow.

Michael

Z-M Weapons make a single-point sling that's detachable and works on a Sub2000. It's $50 but you get what you pay for.

That was me who posted that the swivel was available separately, but I did go on and order the whole assembly. Not a bad sling.

hahah, small world...

How do you like your sub2k so far? I'm really thinking about getting one in .40, glock mags. I'd want it to be able to take the shortie glock 27 mags though... and I'm not sure how far you could cut the grip down...

I think a 9mm barrel and a 40 reciever and a little machining could make a nifty .357sig s2k...

I really like the little carbine, it’s quick to the shoulder, and would make a dandy home-defense piece, or truck gun.

Never heard of a track gun, but a TRUCK gun is one that lives primarily in your truck for the occasions when you need one.

AND IIRC is If I Recall Correctly.
