I found a kel tec pf 9 for 150 dollars, but it has a broken ejector according to the add. Is this a good buy? Will kel fix this for free?

Ok I found out that kel-tec will fix the gun for free, but I have to pay to overnight it to them which runs 70$ and the lady who is selling it who is the original owner has to be the one to send it in

gator

wrap it up on a shoe type box and take it to UPS and say nothing. address it to cnc industries and the address and they will not ask u one question. Cost will be about $8.

If you want to be foolish and tell them it is a gun,you expect to pay at least $40 plus. That is UPS rules not federal shipping rules. I have sent many many kt's back for reparirfor$8

MC GUNNER is right, kt will send you the part free, for just a phone call and it might take 10 minutes to knock that roll pin out and install the new part. It is a no brainer to replace that part..

Send it back and look for at least 4 to 8 weeks before you get it back, callthem and you will have the new part in a week or less..

My PF9 works fine without the ejector,I just didn't want to send it back.I have maybe 700 rds through it since I removed the ejector,no ftf,no fte.The last round will leave the brass in the extractor,it leaves when a new mag is inserted. My original problem was the ejector pin was "walking: in front of the hammer.I tried multiple times to fix it,finally gave up and took the ejector and pin out of the gun,no problems since...

send it back to kel tec... they stand by their guns.. especially if this is an ongoing problem with the PF9, they will recognize that it didnt come from abuse and fix the gun...

The PF9 is a fairly new model, runs about $300. That is an excellent but on a very reliable weapon. Even if you buy the part or send to a local gunsmith for repair your still coming out ahead in the deal.

Shoot I was to slow. Between the time I talked to this lady last night, and when I called back this morning she sold the gun. I should have just bought it instead of telling her I wanted to look into kel tec fixing it first

and the lady who is selling it who is the original owner has to be the one to send it in
That is simply not true.

It has a lifetime warranty on the gun, not the original owner.
Kel-Tec has no way of knowing who the original owner was, or who the owner is now.

As for shipping?

But you don't even have to send the whole gun in to get the extractor replaced.

Take the slide off and send it to them. Only the frame with the serial number is a "firearm".
Not the slide.

Or, call them at 1-800-515-9983, ask for service dept., and they will send you the parts free.
All you need is a 2mm Allen-Wrench to change it.
Takes about 2 minutes if you are real slow.

in the case

of the PF9 the frame has the serial numbers on it. u missed out on a nice same but I don't blame you for wanting to investigate it first...

I recently dealt w/ Kel-Tec, I just sent in the slide only USPS Priority w/ tracking/Insurance for $6.00. Back in my hands 13 days later.
Excellent folks to deal with.

I mis-read the OP and thought he said extractor.

What he really siad was ejector, which is pinned in the serial numbered frame.

So if sent back, it would be shipping the gun.

But again, they are easy to replace yourself with only a punch & a hammer.

$150!!!!!!!!!

GET IT! Send the slide only to Keltec like the guys above said. $8-10.

The Pf9 is a good gun......ugly if it was made on monday or friday, but still a nice carry weapon.

Just dropped my p3at (I mean machined parts) @ fedx an hr ago for her 3rd trip back to Cocoa, FL.
Frankenbolt stripped, and I just don't want to deal w/ it anymore.
$8 ground...3-5 days. K-T's customer service is great though.

My P11 broke an ejector, and KT mail me two, plus the roll pins:) I'd jump on the $150, and call KT, can't be $2, to buy the parts.
